Tizoc, also known as "The
Griffon" or "Griffon Mask", is a famous wrestler in Second Southtown who gained
favoritism amongst the children audience since his debut. He always donates his
winning to an orphanage and fights to inspire others.
Over time, it seemed like no one could beat Tizoc, until a mysterious man
appeared and soundly defeated him. Tizoc was devastated by the loss and spent
two years searching for the man (rumored to be Gato's
father). By the time of Garou: Mark of the Wolves, Tizoc saw himself as a
washed up has-been, and entered the King of Fighters tournament to regain his
passion for the ring and to find the man who defeated him.
During the events
of King Of Fighters 2003, Tizoc is an up and coming superstar in
professional wrestling and joins the Fatal Fury team after being invited by Terry
Bogard. Terry's brother Andy,
was unavailable at the time since he was tending to his younger student (Hokutomaru)
in Japan. In King of Fighters XI, B.
Jenet requests that he join her team, and he accepts. Tizoc enters simply
for the "heart" of the fight and is not concerned with winning the
prize money. In The King of Fighters XIV, a new challenger known as The
King of Dinosaurs strongly resembles Tizoc. Is he the same person?

Tizoc is my hero.
In MOTW's story, it's suggested that Tizoc is "underestimated" as a legitimate
fighter because he's a pro-wrestler. That WWE superstar life. lol. After Tizoc whoops someone in Garou, he
pretty much compliments them and/or their unique fighting style... What a guy. As the lone grappler
and main "big guy" of Garou: Mark of the Wolves, Tizoc holds an important role.
He's no stereotypical jobber... Tizoc has an awesome theme, along with many unique & hard-hitting moves. Typically, a masked
wrestler can only have so much personality, but
like King from Tekken,
Tizoc speaks louder with his fighting style. Thanks to his badass moveset, super moves, and epic
voice actor (even though I don't know what the hell he's saying half the time)... Tizoc is an amazing fighting game character design.
It was great to
see him crossover to KOF in 2003... as a huge Garou fan / Tizoc player, I definitely wasn't expecting it! He's always been a fun character to use (and fight against) and I hope to see Tizoc appear in future SNK games and crossovers.
