Arc System Works Reveals Guilty Bear

  

It's April 1st and you know what that means... Arc System Works Japan dropped a bombshell announcement about an upcoming all-bear 2.5D fighting game. You've heard of all-girl fighting games? Just bears in this one. According to Arc System Works Japan, Guilty Bear is a "next-generation" fighting game featuring "a battle system that is thoroughly concerned with cuteness". The tweet goes on to confirm "a total of 20 bears will be playable!" If you don't believe me, feel free to Google translate Arc System Works Japan's official tweet for yourself... scroll down for official artwork, at least. You're beary welcome.
 

   
Guilty Bear official artwork is legit! Enjoy the clean and simple title name before it evolves into Guilty Bear XX or Guilty Bear Xrd REV3 -Plus-... (you get the joke). While I'm sure we'd all seriously love to see the entire Guilty Gear -STRIVE- cast transformed into adorable plushy bears (especially Potemkin and Baiken)... we have to settle for boring old Sol-Badguy and Ky Kiske (above).


Just kidding. Actually, we don't have to settle... because Arc System Works shared some beary good artwork of all 20 Guilty Gear -STRIVE- characters as bears that you know you want to hold on the Guilty Bear official website. The "game" might actually be — attempting to save each character artwork from the official site while using a mouse. No, not a mouse. A computer mouse. (Try it and you'll see what I mean.)
 




Looks like I get my Potem-bear and Baik-bear after all.
   
And Arc System Works... if you ever decide to make this not an April Fools joke and release physical collector's bears of a similar kind, I will 100% buy my wife (and myself) one, at the beary least. Happy April Fools 2022.
