Feng Wei TEKKEN 8 Reveal Trailer, Character Render & Screenshots, Closed Beta Test Announced

Bandai Namco announced Feng Wei will return in TEKKEN 8 with a new trailer and confirmed a Closed Beta Test will be live in October. The Tajiquan master demonstrates a mix of new and returning techniques in his TEKKEN 8 trailer, including a classic move or two from prequels that he didn't have access to in TEKKEN 7 (a cool trend we're seeing in TEKKEN 8). The end of the trailer confirms the upcoming Closed Beta Test will be live from October 20-23, 2023 on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and Steam. Players who participated in the previous Closed Network Test will automatically gain access to the Closed Beta Test in October. Read more details about the TEKKEN 8 CBT, below. [UPDATE] Added four official screenshots from Bandai Namco and one video with new gameplay.

Bandai Namco said
the purpose of this Closed Beta Test is to test the network and monitor the gameplay experience of TEKKEN 8. In addition to the standard matchmaking, participants of the TEKKEN 8 CBT will be the first to experience the "TEKKEN Fight Lounge", a large-scale online lobby featuring Avatar Customization, Player Customization, Text Chat, Ghost Match, and Matching from Arcade Machines. The October '23 CBT will also feature Quick Match and Battle Tutorial from the first CNT.

In addition to all 16 characters from July's Closed Network Test, the CBT will add Raven, Azucena, and
Feng Wei to the playable roster along with a sixth playable stage (Peru). TEKKEN 8 will launch with 32 characters, with 4 additional post-launch DLC characters planned to release in the Year 1 Pass. Twenty-five characters have been revealed for TEKKEN 8 so far, with seven more reveals coming before launch.

[UPDATE] Today, TEKKEN Ball Mode was also confirmed to be returning in TEKKEN 8. Check out the first footage of TEKKEN 8's TEKKEN Ball Mode in the video below.

Early Tokyo Game Show '23 gameplay footage also reveals the first live look at Azucena and Raven in action, along with Arcade Quest mode. Back in August during Gamescom 2023, Bandai Namco confirmed six returning characters for TEKKEN 8: Yoshimitsu, Steve, Dragunov, Kuma, Leo, and Shaheen, and announced the game's release date. TEKKEN 8 launches on PC (Steam), PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S on January 26th, 2024.
