Fatal
Fury: COTW Animated Teaser Hints Playable Character from Fatal
Fury: The Motion Picture

SNK
released yet another animated short
for Fatal
Fury: City of the Wolves
hinting at the arrival of an unexpected playable character joining the
game. Laocorn Gaudeamus, an original character from Fatal Fury:
The Motion Picture (1994) and the film's primary antagonist, is likely
to be officially announced as an upcoming playable character in COTW
very soon. The film series introduced several unique antagonists like
Laocorn, a character who has remained largely exclusive to that cinematic
narrative for decades. Recent developments suggest that SNK is looking to
bridge this gap, with the developer releasing this cryptic teaser trailer.
The Fatal
Fury anime trilogy, produced by NAS and SNK with character designs by
Masami Ōbari, serves as a significant pillar of the series' lore. The
first two entries, Legend of the Hungry Wolf (1992) and Fatal
Fury 2: The New Battle (1993), were television specials that adapted
the core plotlines of the initial games, while the third entry provided an
entirely original story. Historically, these adaptations were brought to
Western audiences by VIZ Communications, which released them on VHS and
DVD, often featuring edited scenes such as the removal of a rematch
between Joe
Higashi and Big
Bear in the dubbed version of the second special.

Could we see additional
villains from Fatal Fury: The Motion Picture
joining Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves in future seasons? Or
Laocorn could be the primary character, with assist characters joining him
in action with their own attacks or cameos? Just speculation. Even better,
we could have at least four new playable characters from the film
series... anything is
possible! The future is now.
