Today on Twitter, Bandai Namco posted new SoulCalibur VI concept artwork of series antagonist, Nightmare. In addition to the high quality artwork, Bandai Namco also shared
some of the inspirations behind Nightmare's SC6 design. "Siegfried became the host of Soul Edge and had his body eroded. His right arm is designed to look like a dragon's claws, with a texture somewhere between a crustacean and an animal's horns." Scroll down to see both newly released images and read more details about
Nightmare's SC6 design. [UPDATE] Added wireframe 3D model of Nightmare comparing his original SC1 render with his latest SC6 design.
This is the concept art of Nightmare. The armor is a refinement of SoulCalibur 1's "unicorn" inspired design. His armor is decorated with a dragon, a symbol of evil, chaos and power. The final image was clear from the beginning. So
his design was finished on quickly.

Siegfried became the host of Soul Edge and had his body eroded. His right arm is designed to look like a dragon's claws, with a texture somewhere between a crustacean and an animal's horns. The asymmetrical silhouette is actually a
reference to the fiddler crab!

[UPDATE] As a bonus, here's wireframe 3D reference comparing Nightmare's original SoulCalibur character model with his latest SoulCalibur 6 version.

And last but not least, have a look at Nightmare's final in-game character model from the original SoulCalibur (left) with his latest SoulCalibur VI version (right).
