Bandai Namco Shares SoulCalibur VI Setsuka Concept Art
|
|
Today, Bandai Namco shared some beautiful new concept illustrations for Setsuka's new appearance in SoulCalibur VI. Alongside new concept art, the dev team
provided captions on Twitter detailing some of the inspirations behind Setsuka's costume design. Her final costume design was meant to resemble "a blend of Japanese and Western style female fencer." The haori, a memento of her master, was also an important element in her design. Take a look at all of Setsuka's new SC6 concept
illustrations with Bandai Namco's official commentary directly below.
This is a concept art of Setsuka. It was designed as a blend of Japanese and Western style "female fencer" with less exposure. Motif of a snowflake is used in various parts. The haori, a memento of her master, was also an
important element.

In the rough design process, new elements were added to the elements of past works (Japanese, Western, Oiran, Yakuza, etc.) and selected a design that would fit with the Setsuka of SC6. Her innerwear twines represent the luster of
Japan and her self-control.
