	The King of Fighters XV Tokyo Game Show '21 Special Program Reveals Isla, New Gameplay

  

The King of Fighters XV chief producer Yasuyuki Oda, art director Eisuke Ogura, and game director Kaito Soranaka kicked off Tokyo Game Show 2021 with a 1-hour special presentation. After recapping some details revealed in previous trailers, SNK premiered the gameplay reveal trailer for the first newcomer of the game, Isla. A rival to Shun'ei, Isla will have an important role in the storyline and shares the same "phantom hands" powers as Shun'ei. New details on the gameplay system and modes were also announced. For one, characters can now use EX moves at any time (without needing to be in MAX mode like in KOF14). Draft mode has players taking turns choosing characters 1-by-1, and does not allow them to select the same character. Scroll down to check out Isla's reveal trailer, character artwork + screenshots, in addition to more SNK news announced at the event!               Additionally, SNK announced The King of Fighters '98: Ultimate Match Final Edition on Steam will be getting a rollback netcode overhaul coming this Winter. SNK said they will announce the dates when fans can join the online beta test in the coming months. SNK also announced the Nintendo Switch release NEOGEO Pocket Color Selection Vol. 1 is now available on Steam. Check out the announcement trailer below.
