F.A.N.G is the
self-proclaimed "second in
command" of Shadaloo. He appears to take Sagat's
spot on a Shadaloo monument in a SFV stage, as a large sculpture of him is
seen next to M. Bison, Balrog
and Vega. The acronym "F.A.N.G" stands for "Fantastic Asian Notorious Gang".
It is revealed in Street Fighter 6 that A.K.I.
is his student.
F.A.N.G is an assassin whose
unique poison attacks leave him second only to M. Bison himself! Besides
overseeing Shadaloo's operations, his true passion comes from the evil
experiments conducted within Shadaloo's research facilities. F.A.N.G introduces a
series first mechanic; poison. Whenever his poison attacks connect, they
continuously deal damage to the opponent's life bar until he gets hit or
the poison runs its course. F.A.N.G's sinister long range attacks and
slippery movements, paired with his ability to poison, will leave his
opponents feeling ill.

There was time...
many years ago it seems... when I could say that I "liked" or
at least "respected" ALL Street Fighter character designs.
Those days are gone. Rosters from classic titles made sense and felt well-rounded, even
with a few "freak" designs that the series was always known for.
Titles like Super SF2 Turbo, SFA3 and SFIII: 3rd
Strike have defining, iconic rosters. Then the SF4 happened... and
things started to get silly. Someone a bit more dramatic than myself might say
"things went to shit"... but I wouldn't go quite that far.
>_>
F.A.N.G. should've debuted in SF4 with all the other oddly-shaped,
cartoony characters who would fit better into a PIXAR movie than Street
Fighter. The fact that he introduces the "poison mechanic" to
Street Fighter is kinda cool, but his overall design could've been so
much
better if it were more serious. A "cool" design more like Lee
Pai Long would've worked juuuust fine. F.A.N.G's awkward proportions and
strange animations kill any shred of potential coolness. He's a troll character... who's not
very funny. He's a
5-year-old's drawing of Kung-Lao come
to life. He's concept art that should've stayed concept art. What ever you want to call him, you
could never convince me he's a good
character design. No. Just no.
