Whip, whose real name is Seirah, is an amnesiac girl
looking for her brother. She obtained the nickname "Muchiko" (which translates to "Whip Girl") due to her affinity for whips. Whip originally joined the NESTS organization in KOF '99. There she
became friends with Krizalid,
who seemed to share a bond with her. But when she heard of his ambitio
Whip is a clone of the real Seirah, who was
K's biological older sister who died after being abducted by NESTS. Regardless of whether she is a clone or not, she is called Seirah by people who knew her in NESTS. Due to NESTS experimentation on her body, she's able to manipulate her specialized whip with ease. She befriended Krizalid under
the assumption that he was her brother before she escaped from the cartel. She used Sally as a codename to join the military's Axe Platoon unit. She is eventually assigned to
Heidern's mercenary unit under her current alias, Whip.

When Whip debuted in KOF '99, I was immediately impressed with her animation and design... Best 2D 'whip' sprite-work I've seen since
Simon Belmont in Super Castlevania 4. Whip is one of the
few KOF characters who uses a weapon. (On that note, why is such a weapon suddenly 100% fair game in KOF tournaments? Kinda cheating, no?)
Heidern must've bent the rules somehow. The cool bros of KOF brought fire to the tournament, so I suppose a whip is fair game in any case. However, Whip even pulls out a freakin' gun and fires it during one of her super
moves... Get outta here. She's a cheater, but Whip brought some crazy unique / next-gen stuff to KOF!
While she can be kinda cheap and annoying in gameplay, and her name
lacks originality, lol... Whip is definitely memorable in the series. It's also nice to see a fighting game
female not ultra-sexualized to gain attention. ;) Much respect to this classy gal here. Her confidence is sexy! Not to mention her cool idle stance and walk animations. To overstate my point a bit, Whip's animation in KOF '99 and onwards
was some of SNK's best sprite-work to date outside of the Metal Slug series and really made a statement at the time. The majority of her moveset is nicely designed and interesting as well. Whip's epic return in KOF14 worked pretty well in 3D. Nice to see her make a proper return after all these years.
