Oro is a
mysterious, aged hermit whose
powers gave him an extremely long life (He is 140 years old). He lives in a cave
somewhere in the Amazon Jungle with many different animals, including a dog and
a turtle. When Oro was younger, he used to be a martial arts instructor in
Japan. There are also rumors that he might be a descendant of Japanese ninjas. He moved to Brazil in the early 1900s with a friend of his. His life in
Brazil wasn't going very well and he eventually became a recluse. He spent most
of his time practicing Senjutsu (Mystic Arts), a style made up of techniques
used by the immortal mountain hermits in Taoist myth. After many years, Oro
became a master of the style.
Oro became bored one day and decided to embark on a journey to find a student
worthy of inheriting his fighting style. He decided to enter the third World
Warrior tournament, and sat atop of airplanes to travel to various locations.
After defeating many fighters, he encountered Ryu.
After defeating him, Oro dropped out of the tournament and decided that Ryu was
a potential successor. Later,
Oro eventually
found Ryu and began observing and aiding the young warrior's training, all while
remaining undetected. Ibuki had to fight
Oro once as a test to pass her ninja school graduation exam. Oro was
disappointed when Ibuki challenged him because he thought she was asking him for
a date.

No... Oro might not
be the prettiest character to look at, but he's an incredibly original fighting character if you give him a chance. Oro's animations are insanely interesting and charismatic... even just for his normal moves. Oro's mannerisms and special / super moves are on another level. He is a true martial arts master, after all. He's naturally "underrated" as
a design... but Oro makes a statement when he fights, especially in the hands of a skilled player. Aside from his outlandish appearance / movements, Oro also has some humorous elements about him as well. In short, what an incredibly and VERY original for 2D fighting game
character to debut in SF3: New Generation. He's definite a "different" kind of Street Fighter character, but still retains the vibe of the series.
Oro is technically
the "oldest" character in the Street Fighter universe, which is pretty interesting. In case you
haven't been paying attention, Oro only uses one arm because he feels he's too powerful if he uses
both... yup,
that's a badass concept if I ever heard one (unless he ends up losing. lol). Oro isn't the easiest character to "like"... but Oro is a great design.
