A martial "artist" if I've ever seen one... Heh. An overlooked character, but a clever and aesthetic design from SNK at the time! While not exactly practical (unless there's a hidden blade inside his paintbrush weapon), Taizan's weapon of choice is definitely interesting and unique. Taizan had a lot of potential as a new Samurai Shodown character, but since he only appeared in SS64-2... his design obviously didn't have a chance to go very far, unfortunately. I'm actually really surprised SNK didn't bring him back in any future installment! Along with Shiki, I wanted to see Taizan reappear in the main Samurai Shodown series for many years.

Sadly, Taizan is a forgettable character... even in the realm of 2D / SNK fighting games. Even as a huge Samurai Shodown fan myself, I have to admit I've forgotten about Taizan more than a few times. Thankfully, I still care and update his TFG profile occasionally. (And thanks to you for caring enough to be here.) Seriously, SNK should bring this guy back. He's cool... AND he does commissions! The dude needs to make a buck! Respect the ART.
