Devil / Devil Kazuya

Devil is Kazuya's alternate form, when the devil gene consumes him. When Kazuya was thrown off a cliff by his father, Heihachi, the devil gene activated within him. Devil appeared and offered Kazuya the ultimate power he needed to defeat his father Heihachi, in exchange for his soul. Kazuya, driven by anger and revenge, accepted Devil's offer. Since Kazuya met Jun Kazama, another entity was created within Kazuya known as Angel which represented all that was good within him. Angel represents the "good" version of Kazuya's Devil Gene. She fought to save Kazuya's soul from Devil, and failed.

Since Devil is actually Kazuya, he's really more a part of Kazuya's design than his own entity. "Devil Kazuya" from the very first Tekken was an odd, yet undeniably cool secret character... especially since you had to unlock every single character before you could use him! His earliest design from today's standard is laughable... but hey, black spandex was "in" in the 90's. lol. Also... Devilman!

The Tekken 2 redesign of Devil was a solid improvement, as he looked really cool in the game! I always thought it was cool how Devil's skin color matches Kazuya's iconic purple suit. In TTT1, Devil was his own character and got some new moves... but in TTT2, he became a part of Kazuya's design, with Kazuya now having access to many of Devil's unique moves. Awesome! (This concept carried over and evolved in T7 and T8.) Devil himself also made a badass boss in T7. FUN FACT: One of Devil's T2 artworks has him standing in a room with a checkered floor & balcony. This is interesting, because that environment is strikingly similar to the Fallen Colony stage from T6!
