Devil / Devil Kazuya

Devil is Kazuya's alternate form, when the devil gene consumes him. When Kazuya was thrown off a cliff by his father, Heihachi, the devil gene activated within him. Devil appeared and offered Kazuya the ultimate power he needed to defeat his father Heihachi, in exchange for his soul. Kazuya, driven by anger and revenge, accepted Devil's offer. Since Kazuya met Jun Kazama, another entity was created within Kazuya known as Angel which represented all that was good within him. Angel represents the "good" version of Kazuya's Devil Gene. She fought to save Kazuya's soul from Devil, and failed.

Since Devil is actually Kazuya, he's really more a part of Kazuya's design than his own entity. "Devil Kazuya" from the first Tekken was an odd, yet undeniably cool secret character in the game... especially since you had to unlock every single character before being able to use him. However, looking back at the design from today's standard, Devil Kazuya definitely looks funny in his spandex underwear, gloves & boots... but hey, it worked in the early 90's. ^o^

The later redesign of Devil in Tekken 2 was a big improvement over the original, and thus, his design hasn't changed much since then. I always thought it was cool how his skin color matches Kazuya's iconic purple suit. I still prefer Kazuya's original form, but the fact that he can turn into this sinister-looking beast makes him even more badass. In TTT1, Devil was his own character... but in TTT2, he's simply part of Kazuya, enabling classic TTT1 moves... which is awesome. Fun fact: In one of his T2 artworks, he's seen standing in a room with a checkered floor and a balcony. This is interesting, because that environment is strikingly similar to the Fallen Colony stage from Tekken 6! ...Cool huh?! (Don't forget you heard it here on TFG first!)
