Clark is
part of the Ikari Warriors mercenary agency who is under the orders of Commander
Heidern
and Colonel Ralf
Jones. He
was formerly a spy before he entered their service. Clark is known for being a
focused and loyal soldier who specializes in gathering information for their
missions. He apparently wears his sunglasses to hide a scar in the middle of his
forehead; it was caused by Ralf who was carelessly playing with his knives at
the time.
Like the
other Ikari Warriors, Clark was ordered to enter each tournament by Heidern. He
continues to play a supporting role in Ralf's decisions and often accepts his
superior's views. He and Ralf helped Leona
overcome her dramatic past at the end of 1997. His first appearance was in the
classic SNK arcade game, Ikari Warriors (1986).

Clark's one quiet dude... I
guess he's going for the "silent but badass" approach? Besides appearing in SNK's original
arcade series, Ikari Warriors,
I don't know why SNK pushed this design for so long in the KOF series.
To me, Clark just looked like a generic army dude / construction worker for
the longest time. If anything, he contrasts most of the other KOF characters by
not having much fashion sense and being a straight-edge "military dude". I guess it works for him, but he's still pretty plain. SNK improved Clark's outfit in KOF '99 and after, but he still lacked excitement. Clark's
fighting style is also a mixed bag... his old sprite had some choppy animations, and his infamous super move where he "throws his opponent
straight up in the air over and over again" is pretty dumb IMO. Thankfully, SNK finally updated his look in KOF XII (and apparently Clark started using steroids). lol. Still (no pun intended),
his KOF XII / XIII appearance is easily his coolest rendition to
date. His KOF XIV iteration is an expected "slight" improvement due to
the advancements of his moveset, but he's still kinda boring. Most importantly, I don't think he cares. Never lose the sunglasses, Clark. Never lose them.
