Fantasy Versus: Rising Delayed to December 14th, Crossplay Open Beta

and Arc System Works announced Granblue
Fantasy Versus: Rising has been delayed from its earlier
November 30th release date to December 14th, 2023. Creative
director Tetsuya Fukuhara provided a message to fans explaining the
reasons for the delay. A second open beta test for Granblue Fantasy
Versus: Rising will take place November 9th-12th on PlayStation
5, PlayStation 4, and Steam, so fans will still get a chance to try out the
game this month. Below, read director Fukuhara's statement on the cause
for the delay.

Tetsuya Fukuhara:
"After our first online beta was held in July, the development team
pulled out all the stops to rework the game's mechanics and battle design
in time for the initially scheduled release date. Despite our best
efforts, however, it has become clear to me that additional time will be
needed to put the finishing touches on the game.
Upon completing our
adjustments to the game's battle mechanics, we revealed the changes during
our Balance and System Adjustments stream on October 20 and the first
public playtest at the "Granblue Fantasy: Versus Official Tournament,
Vol. 7" last weekend, where they were met with an overwhelmingly
positive reception.
However, due to the
number of modes that were affected by these changes, we found the overall
impact to be much larger than anticipated, and decided that, in order to
meet player expectations, we would need two more weeks of polish and
debugging to put out a truly high-quality product. We regret announcing
this as the second beta is just around the corner, but please rest assured
that the beta schedule itself has not changed."

As
director Fukuhara stated, the development team has decided to delay the
title to put extra polish into GBVSR's battle mechanics, balance,
and system... which is certainly the best option for long-term players of

In addition to Casual
Matches, Lobby Matches, and Training Mode, beta participants will be able
to engage in mini-game mayhem with up to 30 players in Grand Bruise
Legends!

Once again, in
addition to the main game, beta participants will be able to participate
in the Fall Guys-inspired party mode: Grand Bruise Legends. So
mark your calendars Granblue fans... the new official release date
for Granblue Fantasy Versus: Rising is a little over a month away
