EVO Japan '23 Final Registration Numbers

Mark "Markman" Julio recently posted the final player registration numbers for EVO Japan 2023. Street Fighter V: Champion Edition locked in the most participants this year (1,797 players), with TEKKEN 7 and Guilty Gear -STRIVE- taking second and third, bringing in 1,400 and 1,385 registered players, respectively. Also worth mentioning is The King of Fighters XV and Virtua Fighter 5: Ultimate Showdown, practically tied with around 800 participants. Take a look at Markman's tweet below for the final EVO Japan 2023 numbers:

EVO Japan will return as a live event, taking place March 31st through April 2nd, 2023. Below is the official trailer for the tournament.

The first ever inaugural EVO Japan event took place back in January 2018. EVO Japan is the first and only Evolution Championship Series event taking place outside of the USA. Like EVO 2022 in Las Vegas, Nevada, EVO Japan 2023 will be the tournament's first live event since the 2020 global pandemic. EVO Japan 2020 was one of the final major fighting game tournaments before the COVID-19 pandemic put live events on a hiatus.

EVO Japan takes place March 31st through April 2nd, 2023 at the Tokyo Big Sight (Tokyo International Exhibition Center) in Tokyo. More
information and details are available on the EVO Japan official site.

In related news, the official games lineup for EVO 2023 in Las Vegas was announced back in February. As always, please stay tuned on The Fighters Generation for continued coverage and upcoming announcements.
