TFG Presents: Fighting
EX Layer Beta Combo Video for Kairi, ALlen Snider & Skullomania
|
|
Now that the Fighting EX
Layer PS4 beta has concluded, TFG presents an exclusive combo
video starring Allen Snider, Kairi and Skullomania. For each character, I
cover a wide variety of combos: beginner, intermediate, cross-ups, jump-ins,
corner, etc. I didn't try to break the game during the beta. Instead, I focused
mostly on combos that I think will make the cut to the final version of the game.
That said, if
you plan on learning any of the above characters, definitely take a look at
these combos.

mentioned at TWT 2017, as they are still closely working with Epic to reduce lag on Unreal Engine 4. (Source:

cinematic trailer
begins by confirming DC's Enchantress, joining the previously announced Atom.
The third character announcement was quite the shell shock... as the Teenage
Mutant Ninja Turtles will indeed be duking it out with DC's best. It appears the
turtles will function as a single character, but gameplay details have yet to be
revealed.

Fighter V PC Mod Makes Graphics Look Like Pencil Sketches
|
|
We don't regularly post
"news" about the latest PC mods for fighting games... but some are
just too good not to report. A modder known as "Nded" created a
graphics mod for Street Fighter V and MVC: Infinite
that makes the visuals look like something out of a sketchbook.
While not yet perfect (as some special move effects aren't visible), the sketchy
graphics filter's sharp lines create a catchy and striking visual aesthetic. It
even makes me
wonder if a future fighting game could incorporate this unique visual style into
the default graphics.

Ball FighterZ Open Beta Access with Pre-order, FighterZ Pass Not included
in Collector's Edition
|
|
Bandai Namco confirmed that
players who pre-order either a physical or digital copy of Dragon Ball
FighterZ will gain access to the next open beta. (No details or release date
for the next beta yet.) Secondly, it's been confirmed that recently announced
FighterZ Pass containing 8 DLC characters will NOT be included in the $139.99 CollectorZ

New Tekken
7 X New Japan Pro Wrestling Collaboration Costume & Rage Art Revealed
for Lars
|
|
A brand new TEKKEN X New
Japan Pro Wrestling collaboration costume
has just been revealed. Lars will be getting a new costume in TEKKEN 7

Okada attire, Lars will get a new Rage Art animation with this outfit equipped.
Tanahashi's theme song (Love & Energy) will also play during the match. So
far, this costume has only been confirmed for the arcade version... but remain
optimistic, as all previous NJPW content has come to consoles (and for
free).

Capcom Street Fighter
Character Popularity Poll
|
|
Capcom just opened up a
character popularity poll
on their CFN Portal site. There's no telling what they plan to do with the results from
this poll, but with Street Fighter V: Arcade Edition (and Season 3)
on the horizon, your vote could help determine the future of SFV's roster
(or alternate costumes, perhaps). The poll contains pretty much every Street
Fighter character in existence, even those from SFEX and the obscure Street
Fighter 2010. You can vote for your favorite Street Fighter character
HERE.

months before slapping a final score on it. That said... please enjoy my
elaborate 40+ paragraph review of TEKKEN 7. I believe I covered
everything. Time to get going on my MVC: Infinite review!

Cloud Strife was Almost

that Final Fantasy VII protagonist Cloud Strife was originally planned as
a guest character for the PS2 version of SC2, but the plans fell through
- and Heihachi Mishima took his place in the stage of history.

7 Console Sales Surpass 2 Million Copies
|
|
Replying to a fan on Twitter, TEKKEN
producer Katsuhiro Harada confirmed TEKKEN 7 has surpassed two
million copies sold on console. Considering the current demographic of
gaming as a whole, and the fact that arcades no longer exist in most places, a
fighting game selling 2 million copies in 3 months is quite an achievement. For
comparison's sake, Street Fighter V has moved only 1.7 million units
since February 2016. Bandai Namco noted that TEKKEN 7 is on track to
reach their target of 2.1m by the end of 2017.

Thunder God Raiden Joins

Weeks before Injustice
2 launched, a character silhouette of Mortal Kombat's Raiden was teased
in an image advertising future DLC character packs. So it didn't come as much of
a surprise when Raiden was officially announced a few weeks ago... but the day
has come for the iconic thunder god (in his weirdly superhero-esk getup) to join
Injustice 2's roster. Players who own the special editions or Fighter
Packs #2 can use him now. Raiden becomes available for purchase October 8th for
$5.99 and comes with a Black Lightning Premium Skin. Check out Raiden's gameplay
trailer.
