The Wardens are powerful, noble warriors dedicated to the defense of their land and their people. Striking a balance between defense and offense, wardens wear partial plate armor with chainmail and leather. Wardens wield massive two-handed longswords for slashing enemies and blocking attacks. Trained
to be proud, loyal, and brilliant diplomats, the Wardens are expected to embody the highest values of Knighthood. Many set out to achieve this, few do.

SNK went from posting "we all horny on main tonight" on Twitter (in May 2020 referencing
Iroha), to revealing the vanilla knight avatar from For Honor as SamSho's first ever guest character. (Talk about going in different directions.) The 2017 game For Honor never really interested me, partly due to the "generic" (yet historically accurate) depictions of various medieval warriors.
SamSho
was always about vibrant character designs with tons of personality... so I'm not sure generic ole' Warden brings much hype to the game.
Maybe SNK should've went with the Dragon's Lair knight as a guest character for SamSho. (Now that would bring some hype!) Brought back
Seiger... or, of course, a SoulCalibur guest character. However, simplifying a SoulCalibur to make them fit into a 2D fighting game with a heavily condensed moveset would indeed be challenging (to keep the integrity of
the character). In that regard, I guess a generic
knight from a third person action game, who doesn't have that many moves to begin with, is the "easier" option to transition to 2D fighter. Warden doesn't look too bad, but I can think of so many more interesting knight designs. Even Shovel Knight would've brought more hype than this guy. -_-
