NiCO, known as
"The Lightning Technomancer" is a practitioner of Pencak Silat, a
historic martial art of Southeast Asia. She employs powerful plasma discharges
in her attacks, boosting her Pencak Silat strikes to another level, while at
the same time using her EMF Rings to move at ultrahigh rates of speed.

Comparatively
to the only other newcomer in DOA6... (Diego,
who forgot his Beam Katana to complete his Travis Touchdown cosplay), NiCO is
actually a pretty exciting design for the series. (Now I'm convinced Tecmo Koei
actually did want Travis Touchdown as a DLC character but couldn't afford his
appearance fee... so Tecmo had to do something with the leftover
electrical special effects. lol)
Whether the above speculation / joke is true or not (probably not)... NiCO's
superhuman electric special moves are actually something very refreshing to DOA.
The electrical spark effects look very nice in-game, too! NiCO's got some
"style" behind the way she throws her electric special moves, one of
which even closely resembles Iori Yagami's
iconic super move. Aside from that, her other normal attacks have smooth
animation and her combos have pretty solid ouch factor. Visually, NiCO's default
outfit makes her look like she's from a vocaloid game or some type of
"girly anime" I'd never watch, but it's not bad. The fact that her
design isn't "over-sexualized" is also a step in the right direction
for DOA character designs. Tecmo Koei actually impressed me with this
character, and DOA as a series could definitely use more designs like her
(moveset-wise).
