Hisako is a Japanese Onryo who lived during the Sengoku period of Japan. Over 450 years ago, a band of renegade soldiers led a raid on Hisako's village and her father, a former samurai, is cut down attempting to stop them. In her rage, she takes up his naginata and takes his place, killing many of the enemy troops in the process. Though she too is killed, her sacrifice motivates the other villagers to successfully drive back the invaders. A shrine is erected in her honor, where she is laid to rest. However, in the present, her grave is disturbed by the presence of an organization, awakening her spirit, and she ventures forth to seek vengeance on those who disturbed her rest.

In my humble opinion, Hisako is easily one of (if not) the best newcomers in Killer Instinct 2013. This ghostly, creepy Japanese warrior girl fits in perfectly with the KI cast. Her moveset and animations are awesome... and her foreboding stage is also one of the most atmospheric in the game. Hisako actually makes some of the other KI 2013 designs seem kinda under-developed. On a side note, I could even see Hisako starring in her own game (or horror movie, easily). She's a pretty compelling character on her own. Hisako isn't the most intricate design... but she doesn't have to be in this case. "Ghost" characters are pretty rare in fighting games, after all. On that note, she reminds me a bit of Zappa's ghostly gal-friend. She and Hsien-Ko would probably hang out at the mall, too. (Don't go to that mall.) There's not much else for me to say... I'm creeped the f*** out.... so I'm outta here!
