Green

BIO:

Deep in the continent's forest lived a race of giants with awesome strength. This half-human, half-plant race was attacked by Death Adder's army and all but one were killed. The lone survivor is Green, who predicted the return of Death Adder and has been preparing for it for many years.

When Green heard of the Golden Axe tale, he knew the chance to meet Death Adder face-to-face was near. Green has not forgotten the lovely Maria, who helped him escape Death Adder's clutches. Sadly, Maria disappeared after freeing Green, though he has heard she is still alive. This half-human giant hopes to defeat Death Adder in the coming battles, and through victory have his name spread far. Perhaps Maria can then find him once again...

How did you know this page was going to be green? FUN FACT: Squint your eyes and you'll see Blanka. ^o^  I can hear the devs in 1993-1994: "Hmm, we need a green guy. A BIG green guy. Yeah!" lol. And thus, Shrek's evil cousin was born in Golden Axe: The Duel. To his credit, Mr. Green somehow manages to be one of the most eye-catching characters in The Duel, especially when onscreen. He's indeed "the big guy" of the Golden Axe: The Duel, and his large 2D sprite towers over others in the game. Though a color scheme rip-off of sorts, how is he almost cool? Heh.

Green's normal attacks and "plant-based" specials are pretty cool. I bet he eats an organic diet like me. His super move where he spins around as spikes come out of his arms is pretty well-animated for the time. Overall... Green is an obnoxious, attention-getting character. Once again, he definitely favors Blanka, and I think that was part of the dev's design choice. "Make him so that if you squint, you'll see Blanka." Nice marketing strategy. ;)
