Gang-il

BIO:

Gang-il hails from South Korea and uses TaeKwonDo as his fighting style. He joins Kim Kaphwan and Luong to form the KOF XIV Kim Team. Gang-Il is the chairman of the World Tae Kwon Do Federation. His astonishing kicking techniques can break through any opponent's guard. Always accompanied with a different woman each time he comes back from his travels, Gang-Il's personality is the complete opposite of Kim's.

TKD characters in fighting games (and pro TKD fighters in real life) are usually lanky and have slender body types. Gang-il is quite the opposite... he's short and stubby... but clearly the dude works out and knows how to kick. I'm not discriminating against his body type, but he sure is a humorous angry little fellow. For one, Gang-Il has one of the funniest walking animations I've ever seen in a fighting game. Get your hand out of your pants you weirdo.... lol.

I thought Gang-il had some potential as a design... but I was disappointed. C'mon man, you're entering a KOF tournamen, not going to the gym by yourself at 2 a.m. You couldn't come up with a more original / interesting-looking outfit? Booooring. Also, his fighting style is so similar to Kim's that he just comes off as a wasted character slot. He's really just another version of Kim... meh. I had higher hopes for "Kim's Master" as a character design. In fact, I know of real life TKD masters who look much cooler than Gang-Il.
