Ohhh what's a 90's fighting game without the token blonde chick with a ponytail? C'mon now. We need her. Visually, Taria from Mace: The Dark Age is a straight-forward and slightly generic female swordsman. Her dual-sword fighting
style in game is fairly decent in terms of animation for the time... and speaking of "token blondes",,,,
Taria actually has a throw using her legs similar to Cammy's
and Sonya Blade's, and multiple kicks
like Sarah Bryant. Not sure if it's
purely a coincidence, but it seems like the designers planned this. I'm being facetious. It's definitely not a coincidence. ;)))))
Taria's a bit of a cliche as a design... but I have to give the designers props
for managing togive her pretty attractive female proportions. Some fighting game developers can't even do that right. Considering some other females rendered
in 3D games of the time, Taria looks pretty good. She also reminds me a bit of Red Sonya, who I had a crush on when I was a kid in the 80's/90's.
