BIO:

Maria Renard is a vampire huntress and distant blood relative of the Belmont clan (although in Castlevania: Dracula X, she was rewritten to be the sister of Richter's beloved, Annette). In 1792, Maria was captured, along with several other young women, and taken to Dracula's castle. Richter Belmont saved Maria from Shaft, one of Dracula's servants, who was attempting to cast a spell on her. Once Maria is rescued, she becomes playable and uses various magically enhanced animal attacks for combat. There exists an ending in which Maria confronts and defeats the Count instead of Richter.

In the introduction sequence to Symphony of the Night (a retelling of the final boss battle Akumaj? Dracula X), if Richter's health completely runs out, a twelve-year old Maria will appear and amplify Richter with her magic in his effort to defeat Dracula. At the age of twelve, she has mastered how to use Animal spirits for familiars, summoning Magic Spells and the four Celestial Beasts.

Four years after the defeat of Dracula, Richter vanished. Maria immediately set out to find him. After a year of searching, in 1797, she finally found Castlevania. In the castle she learned that Richter was working in concert with the dark forces. With Maria's help, the half-vampire Alucard was able to break Shaft's hold on Richter and defeat Dracula. Depending on certain player actions in Symphony, the player will receive different endings. In one, Maria will admit to not being able to live without Alucard and go after him. In another, she will resign herself due to the fact that she cannot ease his torment and returns home with Richter.

In the Castlevania Judgment storyline,
Maria was adopted into the Belmont household after Dracula was defeated. She looked up to Richter as an older brother. At some point, Maria had a new pet barn owl named Osca which would take the place of her doves. Maria would have a hard time being a young kid growing up around well endowed mature village women, such as those she helped rescue and she became dissatisfied with her own lack of development.

At the age of 15, Maria sensed a strange unease among her animal friends. Beneath the light of a full moon, she ventured out into a dark forest seeking answers. She had entered a time rift and was greeted by a strange man who introduced himself as Aeon. He explained that this realm was a place where she would find what she desired, but that there would be trials for her to pass. She was delighted at the prospect of receiving a present, so she gladly accepted the trials. Perhaps this could cure her self-image problems? She would fight several warriors from other time periods, including Shanoa, who made the mistake of referring to her as a little girl, Sypha, who didn't seem to appreciate the two "sacred gifts" that she had been endowed with, and Carmilla, a vampire who naturally had to be destroyed, but who was also irritatingly "bigger" than her. When she returned from the time rift, time would bring her what she desired. However, she soon found that her faith in appearances would fade like a dream.

Clearly, Maria's design has come a very long way... seems like the girl went through some serious "phases". I mean, she started out as Princess Peach, turned into a hot girl / cover model, and then decided to go all out with her Misa Misa cosplay. lol. What's the timeline again? lol. Maria's later Castlevania designs were pretty decent, with her Symphony of the Night appearance among her best.

Her Castlevania Judgment redesign and fighting game debut is interesting at least... but perhaps a bit "over-designed." She's got the Halloween spirit going on for sure, but also distinguishes herself as the most annoying character in the game. And in case you haven't noticed, her Castlevania Judgment incarnation resembles Misa from Death Note.
