Remy's father abandoned
his family to pursue the path of the true warrior. Due to this,
Remy holds a grudge against all street fighters. When his sister
died, he encased her in a block of ice to preserve her. He let his deceased
sister sink to the bottom of the sea and realized that
he has to put his dark past behind him. Contrary to some fan-theories, it's been confirmed that Remy's father is not Guile, Charlie,
Ryu
or anyone else from the known Street Fighter universe.

Like many characters from SFIII, Remy was created to take the place of a
classic character... in this case, Guile.
Remy's primary special moves (and a few of his priority moves) are interestingly
similar to
Guile's. On the flipside, the manner in which he does them is very unique. Remy is a dark, mysterious fighter
with tons of "cool" mannerisms... which actually makes him stand out
in the Street Fighter universe. On that note, Remy looks like he could
easily fit into
the KOF series if he wanted to. His attire is even eerily similar to Iori
Yagami's. Also worth mentioning: Remy is one of the skinniest fighters of any
fighting game, which along with his "goth-like" charisma, is a
distinguishable part of his design.
At the time of Remy's debut, it was definitely nice to see Capcom venture out of the realm of
"stereotypes" and try a different kind of character... which happens to be one of the main reasons why I
love SFIII: 3rd Strike's roster. No doubt, Remy is one of the most
interesting and cool additions to
the dynamic SFIII roster.
