BIO:

Lion Rafale is a high school student from France. He fights to gain independence from his father, and uses the style of Praying Mantis Kung Fu. He is born into the Rafale family, one of the wealthiest families in France, whom are involved in the aircraft industry. But this business is just a front for their involvement in illegal arms contracts with terrorists. Lion has been practicing Praying Mantis Kung Fu under an instructor as part of management education since he was five. He resents his father's control over his life and during one of their arguments, his father proposed that Lion must win the World Fighting Tournament as a prerequisite to become free from him.

Wait.... Is he still a high school student after all these years? Was he left back a few times because he was too busy studying Mantis Kung-Fu? Just drop out and get your GED Lion, for real. lol. Even though his fighting style is kinda cool... Lion's personality was always... questionable. Lion consistently had some of the absolute worst win quotes and intros of all time (not only in VF). I don't understand why Sega couldn't manage to make Lion say anything that makes him sound even halfway human or intelligent. Lion also has one of those "hold your nose and talk" voices.... which is beyond annoying.

Additionally, Lion has had some pretty lame outfits... although I'll admit I thought he looked pretty cool in VF2 when I was a kiddo. However, some of Lion's threads seemed to get worse in the sequels over time. In fairness, Lion has a catchy fighting style that makes him pretty memorable. He can also be a fun character to use in the games, for sure. However, you (and your opponent) definitely gotta deal with all of Lion's strange quirks if you use him. :/
