Hyo Amano
is such a master of the sword that he fights his opponents with a sheathed
bamboo sword, and keeps it sheathed most of the time. All he cares about is women,
sake and the thrill of fighting. When he discovers the petals of a beautiful
cherry tree are falling from the branches, he decides it's time to kill his
enemies. In the end, he discovers it was only the changing of the seasons that
resulted in the petals falling from the trees.
After learning the reason behind the cherry tree petals falling, Hyo notices
that the sky is turning a dreadful gray color due to the re-opening of Hell's
Gate. He draws his sword, but finds it oddly dull and fragile. He decides to ask
his friend Takane Genzo, a master swordsmith, to fix it. However, he learns that
his friend has passed away. Amano later discovers that he had a daughter, Hibiki
Takane, who had recently left her household. Concerned for his sword and for
Hibiki, he sets off to locate her.

Hyo must be
extremely secure in his masculinity to wear a pink,
flowery kimono and no pants? lol. If you're a homophobe, I suppose you'd think
he's gay at
first glance... but as you may know, things are different in Japan. This dude gets
all the chicks in 18th century Japan. lol.
If Amano didn't have a solid fighting style, I wouldn't like the design. Even
though he has a "passive" clothing style, he gets down to business and
hits hard when he needs to. Overall, Hyo Amano is comical, clever design, and a fun character to use in the game.
His moves & combos are hella cool, and he brings an interesting personality
to the series. He's one of my personal favorite
characters from the series. ;)
