BIO:

Smoke was once an assassin working for the Lin Kuei, a warrior clan located in an unknown region of China. He was one of the most skilled assassins they had, particularly because of his amazing stealth which left him virtually invisible to his victims. His code name, Smoke, was earned because of the way he used blinding smoke to give himself the upper hand in battle.

He was a friend and ally of the original Sub-Zero and had gone with him to Outworld on his mission to kill Shang Tsung. After failing their mission, Smoke and Sub-Zero returned to the Lin Kuei and soon discovered that their clan had chosen to transform their best warriors into cyborgs, already performing the procedure on Sektor and Cyrax. Smoke and Sub-Zero turned on their clan and fled. Sub-Zero managed to escape, but Smoke was captured and converted into a bounty hunter warrior, designated LK-7T2. Under the programming of the Lin Kuei, Smoke was forced to hunt down his old friend. In MK: Deception, Smoke teamed up with Noob Saibot to form the team of Noob Smoke.

Smoke debuted as an infamous MK ninja "clone"... but nonetheless, Smoke was definitely a cool secret character in MK2. The mystery surrounding him worked so well. Smoke was reinvented in MK3, but this time a clone of Cryax/Sektor. What a copycat. Smoke had some original moves in MK3 at least, and notably one of the most entertaining fatalities in the game (the one where he blows up Earth). Good shit. Smoke appears with Noob Saibot in Deception to form the team of " Noob Smoke" which is the dumbest name ever... but that duo was actually pretty entertaining. Later in the 3D era, Smoke's visual redesign in Deception and Armageddon was pretty terrible-looking, if you're asking me.

They finally fleshed out Smoke's story in MK9, which cleared up why he first appeared as a human and then as a robot. MK9 Smoke has funny long hair that could've looked better in-game, but not bad. His MK9 moveset is well done, minus a few awkward animations... for example, he looks like he's petting a furry animal during his fighting stance and he throws his palm-strike like someone who definitely doesn't know martial arts. Such sloppy animation, but ohh well. You're still cool Smoke.
