Kazuki is a member
of the Kazama ninja clan and the brother of Sogetsu and Hazuki. He wields
the power of flames for his skills. He tends to act before thinking. When
his younger sister Hazuki was kidnapped by Amakusa,
he left his clan in order to save his sister. But in doing so, his clan
ordered his brother Sogetsu to
find and kill the escaped ninja. Both him and Sogetsu eventually met at
Amakusa's castle. There, Kazuki defeated Amakusa and was able to save his
sister. Sogetsu, on the other hand, stayed behind to fight Zankuro.
Since then, he and Hazuki live a life of running from his clan. His father
was killed by Yuga.
Even though
Enja from SSV is partially a sprite clone of Kazuki and strongly resembles Kazuki's "bust" form from SS64, they are not the same person.
Enja is a demon who took over an unknown ninja of the Kazama clan. Eventually, Enja becomes sealed in Kazuki's weapon. He is rumored to be Kazuki's father.

Fire ninja Kazuki was around waaay before those hipster "Fire-benders" from Avatar... or whatever other "fire ninja wannabe" you might be able to think of. Come to think of it,
Fuuma from World Heroes did come first... but he's part of the SNK camp, so he doesn't count. lol. Kazuki made a solid impact when he debuted in SS4. As one of the a "new school" SamSho characters introduced in SS4, Kazuki (and his bro Sogetsu) seemed to compliment
everything I love about the series. Kazuki has a ton of unique moves, a very unique fighting style for the series... and his hot-headed, aggressive personality perfectly compliments his "fire" theme. That exploding-into-fire disappearing ninja shit is badass as hell. lol. Kazuki is an interesting contrast to the likes of
Ukyo, for example.
While Kazuki's semi-generic ninja garb & anime hair didn't wow me at first, his moveset-design and the way he can be played by skilled players made me a fan of the design. In the later 2D games, his design could've used a revamp of sorts... but he was still an effective and entertaining character. Kazuki's cool stance, animations & mannerisms make him stand out in the fighting game universe.
