BIO:

Christie is the granddaughter of the Capoeira master who taught Eddy Gordo the art of Capoeira during his incarceration in prison. While in prison, Eddy swore an oath to the master to pass on the art of Capoeira to his granddaughter. Eddy sought out Christie shortly after his return from The King of Iron Fist Tournament 3 and taught her the art of Capoeira, just as he promised his master. After only two years of tutelage, Eddy turned Christie into an impressive fighter. But soon thereafter, Eddy abruptly disappeared, leaving Christie only with the words, "I must seek vengeance against the enemy responsible for the death of my father." Troubled by his sudden and mysterious disappearance, Christie chases after Eddy with her only lead... The King of Iron Fist Tournament 4.

Christie entered The King of the Iron Fist Tournament 5 in hopes to save the life of her grandfather. She is defeated and returns home. Upon her arrival she finds out that not only her master is missing, but Eddy as well. Returning home to Brazil disappointed and baffled to the location of both Eddy and her grandfather, she learns from the hospital where her grandfather was staying that he was transferred to the Mishima Zaibatsu's medical facility.

Christie knew Eddy had some unfinished business with Mishima Financial Group (MFG), but for him not to contact her was very unusual. She couldn't help but feel something sinister was behind Eddy's disappearance. Around that time, it was announced that the MFG would be sponsoring the King of Iron Fist Tournament 6. Christie decides to go to Japan in order to come into contact with the MFG in order to find the location of Eddy and her grandfather.

The TEKKEN series was never short on sexy female fighters, but when Christie Monteiro arrived on the scene in TEKKEN 4... she definitely took the spotlight. Christie uses the same authentic Capoeira fighting style as TEKKEN 3's Eddy Gordo (taking his place in T4 - although he was a secret character in the PS2 version), making her an immediately likeable character. Some Eddy fans might've been salty about Christie stealing the spotlight... but I think most of them quickly became Christie fans. ^o^ Visually, Christie is one of the most eye-pleasing characters of TEKKEN and has a naturally cool aura about her. Christie's shiny attire, amazing physique, and beautiful movements really made a statement in the fighting genre at the time of her debut.

Christie's moveset evolved nicely from sequel to sequel. Something about having two Capoeira-users in the same fighting game might seem redundant, but something about a female performing Capoeira just looks natural and cool.
