Alfred Airhawk

Alfred is a young pilot who flies with his mentor, John. When John was 62 years old, he carelessly flew over Russia and was chased by an MiG. When John was victorious over the MiG, he became a hero to his hometown and Alfred especially admired him as his idol. Alfred's father died in an accident ten years before the game begins. When White became the new boss in South Town, Alfred bravely stands against him to defend his departed father's remains. He was also inspired by Terry Bogard's heroic tale.

Alfred first appeared in Real Bout Fatal Fury 2: The Newcomers as a hidden boss. He's an exclusive character in the Playstation port of Real Bout Special (called Real Bout Fatal Fury Special: Dominated Mind), in which he's the main protagonist of the main story mode. Alfred also appears as a striker in KOF 99 Evolution and makes a cameo appearance in KOF Maximum Impact 2 in one of the stages.

Alfred is the definition of an overlooked, over-colorful 90's SNK fighting game character. There weren't that many... but there are a handful of kooky SNK characters that never quite made it out of the backstreets of NeoGeoLand cafe. Alfried? How many of your fighting game friends actually know who Alfred is? Exactly. Be proud of yourself, you're probably old school SNK if you're still reading this... at least you are in my book.

As a design, Alfred's costume is on the average side of things... right along with his moveset, but he tries. His animation and special moves aren't half bad, but again aren't that unique or exciting. In some ways, he doesn't even look or act threatening. He just seems like a pilot who surprisingly can fight!? :/ In fairness... Alfred was a fairly almost-interesting "hidden" character for the Real Bout series. lol. Almost-interesting meaning there are way better secret characters in fighting games. Indeed, he's underdeveloped as design... and he's currently still living in the world of Real Bout. Poor Alfried is lost in the 90's... but he did manage to make some cameos of KOF backgrounds over the years. I guess he time travels.
