First
released in 2008, Persona 4 was one of the most highly acclaimed
JRPGs in recent times. The title spawned an excellent "Golden"
remake on PS Vita, a dance / rhythm game, and as you probably know... a
proper fighting game series. With Persona 5 now out in Japan (and
on the horizon for North America & Europe), one would expect a similar
level of success for Atlus's new installment. With that said, Persona 4
Arena director Kazuhisa Wada already expressed interest in making a
"Persona 5 Arena" fighting game spin-off.
Below is a video (non-subtitled) of Atlus's Kazuhisa Wada from this
weekend's Toushinsai 2016 during the winners ceremony for the P4A:
Ultimax tournament.
"I definitely want
to make it happen," Wada said. He went on to ask fans to let their
voices be heard on social media and elsewhere to support the possibility
of Persona 5 Arena. "I'd appreciate it if everyone made their
voices heard and sent their requests in regards to this," he
stated.
Persona 5 was released in Japan on September 15th, 2016 on
Playstation 4 and Playstation 3. The localized version is set to arrive in
North America and Europe on February 14th, 2017. The game has already
received mostly positive reviews.
