Today, SNK rolled out two new Samurai Shodown character introduction trailers for two more returning veterans. Take a look at the official trailers for
Hattori Hanzo and Earthquake as they appear in the upcoming Samurai Shodown reboot. You'll notice that both characters (along with other returning veterans) retain many of their classic special moves from Samurai Shodown 2, in addition to elements from their SS3/SS4 movesets (if they appeared in those games), respectively. With
that said, series veterans in Samurai Shodown (2019) look to offer a balanced selection of "new" and classic attacks - staying pretty close to their original playstyles. Their new cinematic super moves are much more fleshed out than in previous installments.
In related news, SNK will be releasing a Day 1 patch for Samurai Shodown (1.01) which will fix the major input lag issue apparent in the demo. This will bring Samurai Shodown's (demo) input lag of 8 frames down to 4.01 frames, keeping it in line with current PS4 / Xbox One fighting
games. The fact that SNK managed to fix this issue within 2 weeks is pretty impressive!
