Mauru is the non-threatening guardian of Lost Forest who can easily understand the human tongue. When he found Mugi, she took a liking to him and named him Mauru. He hopes to return the girl to her parents and protects her from the people who try to steal his Waku Waku ball. In his ending, Mugi is reunited with her family and they adopt him (he poses as a dog). Mauru is caring giant who only fights when he needs to. Mauru tries to avoid fighting, and conflict in general, if he can. His official nickname is "The Forest General" and he represents the green Waku Waku ball.
