Swamp Thing is a
mysterious and sometimes fear-inducing elemental creature. He shares a
connection to all plant life on the Earth through a network known as "The
Green". A botanist named Alec Holland met his death in a swamp after
creating a hormonal Bio-Restorative Formula for plants. Shortly after, Alec
became Swamp thing... a mass of vegetable matter that absorbed his memories
and personality. Swamp Thing was created by Len Wein and Bernie
Wrightson, first appearing in House of Secrets #92 (1971).

It's always
interesting when a character with a long pop culture history finally makes their fighting
game debut. Aside from being a DC Universe mainstay, Swamp Thing has that
immediate name recognition from 70's / 80's & 90's. As far as his Injustice 2 apperance goes, he's easily one of the most interesting and visually pleasing characters in the game. He's got that instant intimidation factor... and those MK9-esk Noob
Saibot clone combos are pretty slick too. Other than that, I don't personally see the "big deal" behind this design. Maybe the excitement of this character was before my time (didn't care much for him as an 80's kid), but that's besides the point. Swamp Thing made a pretty cool fighting game character.
