The Flash

BIO:

The Flash is a name shared by several heroes from the DC Comics universe. The original flash was created by writer Gardner Fox and artist Harry Lampert, and first appeared in Flash Comics #1 (1940). The Flash possesses the ability of "super-speed," which allows him to run and move extremely fast, use superhuman reflexes, and seemingly violate certain laws of physics. Thus far, four different characters, each of whom somehow gained the power of "super-speed", have assumed the identity of the Flash: Jay Garrick (1940-), Barry Allen (1956-1986, 2008-), Wally West (1986-2006, 2007-), and Bart Allen (2006-2007).

A legendary hero. World famous. He can run really fast... I dunno. I grew up with comics but never cared for The Flash. Following suit with the rest of the cast, Flash's fighting game debut in Justice League Task: Force on SNES was booooring. He fell into obscurity and me (as a fighting game player and Marvel fan) pretty much forgot about his existence for years. Flash returned to the genre in Mortal Kombat VS DC Universe... making a "not terrible" but "still not good" modern fighting game appearance. Finally, Flash got the fighting game incarnation he deserved in Injustice: Gods Among Us... definitely one of the best appearances of the character to date.

I still don't care too much about The Flash. His look and gimmick is tired, no matter how many modern spin-offs they try to make. Not to sound like a total fanboy... but I think Quicksilver is far more interesting and aesthetic. In fairness, Flash is a classic superhero. In some artwork, Flash looks cool. But I'm sure he was a lot cooler in 1940.
