Saki is the daughter
of a successful businessman and has been best friends with Heart
since
childhood. Like Heart,
she is 14 years old. Two years ago, Saki's father had to relocate to Great Britain
for work, and she attended school there. One day, Saki and her friend Fiona
visited a mysterious mountainside and were sucked into the Elemental world.
Saki was rescued by the Arcana Bhanri, but Fiona was trapped in the other
dimension. Saki has felt guilty ever since. Now, the sky has started looking
exactly as it did two years ago in England, and Saki is determined not
to let anyone else get caught in the Elemental world. Later, she joins Heart in
investigating the Drexler Institute. She has painful memories of getting
sucked into the Elemental World with her friend, Fiona. While Fiona was unable
to return, Saki was saved by her Arcana, Bhanri (Thunder), who resembles a
woman trapped in a giant crystal and was once a queen revered as the Goddess

Even after nearly
20 years, it seems like every
2D fighting game still needs a character to rival the main Ryu-type
character. Of course, the "rival" also has to resemble the main character in some way, if not a
complete sprite clone. To state the obvious, "Saki is to Ken... as
Heart
is to Ryu."
Saki is fairly cool design overall, although I find her to be kinda dull in the
personality and appearance department. I find her default color scheme a bit
clashing and odd. She surely doesn't match, that's for sure.
lol. There are, of course, a zillion schoolgirl characters in anima & games
before the creation of Saki. So to me, it seems like the designers wanted to
give her a loud, clashing color scheme to distinguish Saki from other
schoolgirls. :/ Ahh well, at least she has some cool alt. colors in the game.
Finally, Saki's fighting style does have it's cool moments... I like her
kicks.
