BIO:

Victor Creed, better known as Sabretooth, is without any doubt Wolverine's most hated enemy. Their rivalry goes back to a time that even they don't remember. Sabretooth's mutant abilities give him enhanced strength, agility, stamina, and healing factor, second only to Wolverine's.

Little is known about the early life of the feral mutant named Victor Creed, although it is believed that he suffered an abusive childhood at the hands of his father who, disgusted by the boy's mutant nature, frequently beat him and chained him up in the darkened basement of their home. As an adult, Creed took the name Sabretooth, and by the 1910s he was known by this name in a small Canadian frontier community where he intimidated almost everyone. One of the few exceptions was a young man named Logan, whom Sabretooth sensed had superhuman abilities similar to his own. Hating the love that existed between Logan and a young Indian girl named Silver Fox, Sabretooth brutally assaulted her, apparently raping her and leaving her for dead. The enraged Logan then forced Sabretooth into a pitched battle, which ended with Sabretooth victorious. Unbeknownst to either combatant, Silver Fox survived the attack and soon departed from the community.

Sabretooth's memories have been tampered with by clandestine organizations such as Weapon X and so much of what appears to be his past is not of credible account. The clearest accounts of Victor's childhood begin with him murdering his brother Luther over a piece of pie. His father then chains him in the basement like an animal and systematically pulls out Victor's elongated canines, which perennially grow back. Victor begs his mother to let him go, but she does not. Years pass until Victor eventually gnaws off his own hand in order to escape the basement and murders both of his parents. However, whether or not these memories are accurate is unclear. It is equally likely that Weapon X would want Sabretooth to believe he has always been prone to violence.

Eventually, Creed is recruited into a top secret CIA covert ops unit known as Team X, with allies John Wraith (Kestrel), Logan (Wolverine), Silver Fox (whose death was a hoax), and David North (Maverick). On one mission, the psychopathic Sabretooth kills a crucial scientist during a battle against Russian supersoldier Omega Red. He frequently targets and kills civilians during other fights involving the loose-knit team, but he is loose friends with Logan. During this period he fathers a son, Graydon Creed, with the mutant shapeshifter Mystique, who is undercover in the guise of a spy named Leni Zauber. Graydon eventually grows up to found Friends of Humanity, an anti-mutant organization, and while running for President is assassinated by Mystique from an alternate future.

Sabretooth is one of my all time favorite Marvel villains. I became a big fan of Sabretooth after watching the X-men animated TV series as a kid and followed his story in some of the later comics. I was ecstatic to see that Sabretooth's fighting game debut stayed true to his design in the X-men TV series. Even his voice acting was spot on from the animated series, and his fighting style was also done incredibly well. He was undeniably one of the most badass characters in X-men VS Street Fighter and a very fun character to use. Air throw into super FTW.

On a side note, we all know that his appearance in the first live action X-men movie was terrible. They gave him hardly any lines, which was really depressing since Sabretooth has an iconic personality. However, and thankfully, live action Sabretooth was done a hell of a lot better in X-men Origins: Wolverine... still not the best they could've done, but Liev Shreiber surely looked the part, and even though he didn't do Sabretooth's original voice much justice, he did a great job portraying him in the movie. "RAAAAAAWWRRRR... WOOOLLLVERIIIIINE."
