Pullum is a
young girl from Saudi Arabia and the daughter of a very wealthy man. Pullum was walking
through the halls of her millionaire father's mansion and noticed an odd
silence from her grandfather's room. Normally and active and verbal student
of Hinduism, Pullum's grandfather sat quietly and had a distant look in
his eyes. He held a book in his hands that had one word printed on it:
"Shadaloo." Pullum vowed to seek out the leader of "Shadaloo" and make
them pay for brainwashing her grandfather. Seeking revenge, she hires Darun
Mister as a bodyguard and sets off to track down M.
Bison and other members of Shadaloo.
In Fighting EX Layer,
after her father’s disappearance, Purna rose up and governed her country in
his stead. While trying to figure out a way to escape from the boredom of her
daily life, Purna discovered a clue about her father’s disappearance.

Pullum is a pretty straight-forward
and (some would say) "stereotypical" design from Capcom. While she's
not too exciting of a design visually, she is one of the few Saudi Arabian
characters of the fighting genre, which adds to her originality. I did like the
fact that Capcom changed up her outfit from EX1 to EX2. The
official character artwork definitely makes her look cool... love that artwork,
and her facial expressions. Of course, Pullum doesn't exactly look that
cool in the actual games. :/
Pullum has
a pretty solid, interesting, and original moveset for a 2D fighting game
character, and is fun to use. However, I think I remember her voice being incredibly annoying. I'm
not sure, maybe I should dust off my SFEX box and relive some memories
(hopefully the disk's in there. lol).
