BIO:

Kairi was born to the main house of the Mizukami family and was trained in the family's ancient art of hand-to-hand combat. However, Kairi lost his memories when he fought his own father to a fight to the death and for several years he has wandered the world, fighting without rhyme or reason. Only the words "you must challenge your limits" remained in his memories. Led by these words, Kairi thought that the only way to recover his memories was to follow the way of the Shura and fight, replacing his lost memories with the nature of a demon.

As he continued fighting, Kairi's hair was turned from black to white and his body began to be covered in scars. Eventually Kairi fought his younger sister Hokuto on several occasions. Despite the attempts of Nanase, the youngest of siblings to stop them, this has been unavoidable fate for Kairi and Hokuto. In 2020, a Kairi-inspired costume was released for Ryu in Street Fighter V: Champion Edition.

Playing Kairi in the first Street Fighter EX felt like playing a "next-gen SF character". He had cool new stuff that Ryu & Ken couldn't dream of doing, and very different from them in a "fun" way. Visually, I always called him a "poor man's shoto" (the blue version of him). Still, Kairi's original SFEX1 design is cool. I was happy to see another "martial arts" inspired character in Street Fighter... rather than some sort of kooky freak design. Kairi's SFEX1 fighting style definitely had some cool moves - some of which remind me of Guy.

In Street Fighter EX2, Kairi was unexpectedly but interestingly reinvented and clearly "powered up". His shirtless white pants version is badass... and he turned out being one of the most powerful characters of the game. In SFEX2, he even has a Marvel Versus Series style "beam" Hadouken super move. I loved that damn move in SFEX2. lol. I think Kairi's new white-haired look succeeds his original appearance and adds depth to the character. Kairi's later design in Fighting EX Layer is a solid evolution of his SFEX2 look, although... it's mysterious and sad that he lost his beam-Hadouken super move. :( He's still got cool combos in FEXL at least.
