Soul Calibur VI Movelists for All Characters in the Beta

  

Are you enjoying Soul Calibur VI beta on PlayStation 4 or Xbox One? We certainly are (when it finds an opponent). Soul Calibur VI makes things very accommodating for beginners by design, but becomes a much more enjoyable and deeper game when you know what you're doing. That said, stop reading this and start studying these character movesets from PrimaGames.com for all 16 playable characters in the beta version! Also take a glance at the official Soul Calibur VI beta controls guide, which outlines the basics of combat.
*NOTE:  The movelists below are obviously incomplete. Some characters have links to "Move List" documents / work-in-progress guides compiled by different players. These contain additional moves, combos, early impressions of playstyles, and other helpful tips.

*NOTE #2:  If you're having trouble connecting and finding opponents in the beta, try returning to the main menu after every match and changing connection settings to all regions.
 

Geralt

Recommended Normal Moves

  • Forward +B,B
  • Back + K,K
  • Forward, Forward + B,B
  • Down-Back + A,A
  • Forward, Forward + A,B (for Quen Sign, then press B during Quen Sign)

Recommended Soul Charge Moves

  • Down-Forward + A,A,A (keep tapping A rapidly)
  • Forward + A,B,B
  • Any Direction + A+B

Lethal Hit Counters

  • Back + B - Hit an opponent while they have Soul Charge active.
  • Down-Back + A,B - When hitting an opponent who has a full Soul Charge gauge (super meter).
  • Up, Up or Down, Down + A - Hit an opponent while repelling a mid-hitting horizontal attack.

Sample Combos

  • Down-Forward + B > Forward + A,B
  • Down-Forward, Down-Forward + B > Forward + B,B (hold the second B)


Groh

Recommended Normal Moves

  • Forward, Forward + A,A
  • Forward, Forward + B,B
  • Forward + A+B (Press Forward after for Avenger Draw)
  • Down + A+B
  • Forward + B,B (Press Forward after for Avenger Draw, then A for another attack)

Recommended Soul Charge Moves

  • Down-Back + A,K
  • Down-Forward + B,B
  • B+K, Forward + A

Lethal Hit Counters

  • Down, Down + B - Must hit after an opponent completely misses with a vertical attack.
  • Back, Back + A - Must hit while repelling a vertical attack.
  • Back + B - Must hit the opponent’s back.

Sample Combos

  • Down-Forward + B > Forward + B,B
  • Forward, Forward + K > Up + B+K > Down-Forward + B


Ivy

Recommended Normal Moves

  • Back + B
  • Forward + A,A
  • Forward, Forward + Hold A
  • Down + A+G
  • Forward + B, Hold A (for Serpent’s Embrace), A,A

Recommended Soul Charge Moves

  • Forward + B,B
  • Forward, Forward + K,K
  • Forward + A,A (During Serpent’s Embrace)

Lethal Hit Counters

  • A,A - Only the second attack can hit.
  • Down + B+K - Must hit a crouching opponent.
  • Back, Back + B - Must hit an opponent immediately after they mess a high attack.

Sample Combos

  • Down-Forward + B > Hold B
  • Down, Down + Hold B > Up + B+K


Kilik

Recommended Normal Moves

  • B,B,B
  • Forward + B,B
  • QCF + A,B,K
  • QCF + A (press Back after the attack for a Back Parry)
  • Down-Back + A
  • Forward, Forward + B (press Forward after the attack for a Back Parry)

Recommended Soul Charge Moves

  • Forward, Forward + A+B
  • Back + B,B,B,K
  • Forward, Forward + B+K

Lethal Hit Counters

  • Down, Down or Up, Up +Hold B - Punishing a whiffed (missed) attack
  • Back + B - After a successful Guard Impact
  • Back + A - Every fourth time this attack hits

  • While Standing Up After Crouching, B > Forward + B,B > Forward + K

Recommended Normal Moves

  • Forward, Forward + A+B (Hold to transition into Behind Lower)

Recommended Soul Charge Moves

  • Forward + A+B
  • A+B (during Right Cross)
  • A,A+B (during Night Outer)

Lethal Hit Counters

  • Back, Back + B - Must hit an opponent after they completely miss a high attack.
  • Down-Forward + A - Must counter hit an opponent while they are attempting a Guard Crush attack.
  • B (during Behind Lower) - Attack must hit after Seven Stars Rebirth

  • Down, Down + A - Must hit the opponent immediately after they miss an attack.
  • Down-Forward + B - Must hit an opponent who is crouching and blocking.
  • While Rising After a Crouch, B, Down + B - Must connect as a counter hit.

Lethal Hit Counters

  • Forward + K - When an opponent is using Soul Charge.
  • While getting up, B - Must hit when the opponent is in the middle of a horizontal attack.
  • A,B During Night Side Hold (fast timing) - Must hit immediately after an opponent completely misses an attack.

  • A,G,A (fast input) - Must hit opponent immediately after blocking an attack.
  • Forward + A+G - Must connect when Siegfried’s guard gauge is low (health bar flashing).

Lethal Hit Counters

  • Forward + A - Must hit after having absorbed the opponent’s Soul Gauge at least 10 times.
  • B,B,B - Must hit opponent while their Soul Charge gauge is full.
  • Forward, Forward + B+K - Must hit after an opponent completely misses a low attack.

Lethal Hit Counters

  • Forward + B,B - Must hit an opponent from a distance.
  • Forward + K - Must hit an opponent while they’re using a low attack.
  • Forward, Forward + B - Must be a counter hit that connects when an opponent Soul Gauge is empty.
