Guilty Gear STRIVE Developer's Backyard #5

Arc System Works has published their fifth installment of the Guilty Gear -STRIVE- Developer's Backyard blog. In this edition, Akira Katano from the development team analyzes the data collected from the first open beta test from February 2021. Among the data presented was worldwide character usage and player feedback of GGST's various modes. Online and Tutorial were the lowest-rated, while Versus and Training modes were the highest. The collective gripe regarding Guilty Gear STRIVE's online lobbies was brought up once again, with Arc System Works once again reaffirming lobbies will be "improved before release". On the bright side, the rollback netcode was highly praised by online participants.

In the Developer's Backyard volume 5, Katano confirmed an online "rematch" option will be added as a feature in the final version. He also revealed that players will be able to purchase past songs from earlier Guilty Gear titles with in-game currency for use in GGST. Arc System Works also confirmed they are planning a second open beta test based on player feedback. (No date for the 2nd beta has been announced.)
