Samurai Shodown Returns As A "Hack & Slash Runner" Mobile Game

Many of us "old school" fighting game players have a special place in our hearts for one of SNK's best and most underrated 2D fighting franchises, Samurai Shodown. While the series hasn't seen a proper sequel in ages, there have been a variety of spin-offs and character crossovers into other games. Official Persona 4 Arena Ultimax Video Tutorials

With Persona 4 Arena Ultimax now available in North America, Aksys USA was kind enough to share some easy-to-follow video tutorials on Youtube to make getting into the game that much easier. There are 4 video tutorials in all, which include the following subjects: Basic Controls, Basic Moves, New Systems & Advanced Techniques. Each of the tutorials are also fully narrated (in English) by a Persona character!

Persona 4 Arena: Ultimax DLC Pricing Revealed

With the North American release of Persona 4 Arena: Ultimax right around the corner (Sept. 30th), Atlus USA has revealed pricing details for all announced DLC. Before you get excited, remember that Marie & Adachi are FREE DLC until October 7th. On that same day, Margaret will be released as paid DLC for $4.99 (same price for Marie & Adachi). Prices for the following have also been revealed: Complete P4A story, Glasses Packs, Additional Colors & Voices.

Eliza Hits Skullgirls Encore on PS3 & PC Next Week

Lab Zero Games announced on Twitter that Eliza, the third DLC fighter for Skullgirls Encore, is on the way to PS3 & PC versions next week. As with past DLC fighters, Eliza will be free to download for the first 3 months. In North America, players can download Eliza on Playstation 3 & Steam beginning September 30th, and on October 1st in Europe. Eliza's Xbox 360 release date has not yet been announced.

Arcana Heart 3 Love Max!!!!!! Out Today on PSN

The game that's trolling everyone who has to type out its title is now available on PS3 and PS Vita through Playstation Network! Examu's update to Arcana Heart 3 includes the same number of playable characters from the first iteration, but features rebalanced gameplay and new modes, including: Survival Score Attack, After Story, and new Training Modes. Tekken 7 Gets a New Female Fighter, Catalina

During TGS '14, Katsuhiro Harada unveiled a new TEKKEN 7 character named Catalina, whom will be playable in the October location tests! What we know about her so far: She's from Latin America, her fighting style is Savate, and she's an outspoken, sassy-mouthed character who is vocal while fighting and taunts her opponent. Ultra Street Fighter IV "Omega Mode" Revealed, Video Demonstration By Combofiend

Today at TGS '14, Capcom announced "Omega Mode" for Ultra SFIV. Releasing with the upcoming 1.04 patch in October (which will address some unintended balance issues), Omega Mode features remixed versions of all 44 characters, giving them crazy new moves, abilities, and especially combos. Some examples are Guile throwing multiple Sonic Booms and Ken throwing fireballs with his kicks. Check out a video demo of Omega Mode from Combofiend.

Dengeki Bunko Fighting Climax Adds Selvaria & Alicia From Valkyria Chronicles to PS3/Vita Versions

Today over at TGS '14, Dengeki and Sega announced a new playable and support character for Dengeki Bunko Fighting Climax. Selvaria Bles and Alicia from the tactical RPG, Valkyria Chronicles will be appearing in the Playstation 3 and PS Vita versions of the game. If you happen to be a Valkyria Chronicles fan, have a look at some character art & screenshots of the two in action. DBFC will be released in Japan November 13th for PS3 & Vita.

New Soul Calibur: Lost Swords Key Artwork & Trailer Shows Off Amy & Seong Mina

Earlier this month, the return of Soul Calibur IV's Amy was revealed by Project Soul via a new trailer. Today, Soul Calibur series producer & director, Masaki Hoshino, released a new Soul Calibur: Lost Swords key artwork, featuring Amy and... series veteran, Seong Mina. Also based on her Soul Calibur IV iteration, Seong Mina is the next unlockable character to arrive in Lost Swords. Bandai Namco Europe also released a new trailer with Seong Mina & Amy gameplay.

TGS 2014: Killer Instinct Season 2 Maya Reveal Trailer & Screenshots, New Character Teaser

At Tokyo Game Show 2014, Iron Galaxy Studios have released the reveal trailer and some screenshots for the upcoming new character in Killer Instinct Season 2, Maya! KI veterans will immediately recognize some of Maya's classic attacks and her remixed soundtrack from KI2. The end of the trailer also teases the next newcomer in KI Season 2... (and I won't spoil it for you).

Not much needs to be said about the brand new Guilty Gear Xrd -SIGN- trailer from Tokyo Game Show 2014. The epic TGS '14 trailer transitions between in-game cinematics and gameplay, beautifully showing off GGXrd SIGN's stunning visuals. Kazutoshi "Pachi" Sekine of Arc System Works also put together a video with 4Gamer, which features 10 minutes of raw gameplay footage with new characters Elphelt & Sin Kiske.

Persona 4 Arena Ultimax English Story Trailer

Earlier today, Arc System Works uploaded a new Persona 4 Arena Ultimax "Story Trailer" in English. The new 1-minute trailer drops a few more hints about the overall storyline and shows a few animated sequences along with some gameplay. Persona 4 Arena Ultimax will be released in North America this Fall on Playstation 3 and Xbox 360.

Guilty Gear Xrd -SIGN- PS4/PS3 Compatible Sanwa Denshi Arcade Stick Preview

Back in August, we reported on the GGXrd 6-button PS3/PS4 fightpad which will come packaged with the limited edition of the game in Japan. Arc System Works is preparing yet another peripheral to coincide with Guilty Gear Xrd SIGN's console release. This uber-stylish GGXrd arcade stick features all Sanwa Denshi parts and will also be compatible with both PS3 & PS4. The stick will retail at 23,760 yen ($221 USD) and will be released December 4th.

Tekken 7 Location Tests Begin October 3-5, Arcade Version Online Matchmaking & BanaPassport Art

Katsuhiro Harada was present at today's Namco Sugamo Cup in Japan to make the latest TEKKEN 7 announcement. It looks like we won't have to wait much longer to see some TEKKEN 7 gameplay footage, because location tests are planned for October 3rd-5th at two arcades in Japan: Namco Sugamo and Osaka Nipponbashi. In addition, these cool Kazuya & Heihachi BanaPassport cards will be given out to attendees at the location test.

Guilty Gear Xrd -SIGN- PS4 & PS3 Limited Editions Announced For North America

Today, Aksys confirmed a limited edition for both the PS4 & PS3 versions of Guilty Gear Xrd -SIGN-. The limited edition package includes: GGXrd soundtrack arranged by Daisuke Ishiwatari, "Character Artbook" with character profiles & history, Sol Badguy "Free" metal keychain  (scaled replica of Sol's original belt buckle), and the outer box features a replica of "The Backyard", complete with gears and high-quality binding. The limited edition will cost $80 on PS4 and $70 on PS3.

Tekken 7 Details Unveiling Sunday, Sept. 14th

Katsuhiro Harada announced that brand new TEKKEN 7 details will be unveiled this Sunday via this NicoNico live stream from Sugamo Cup in Japan which is holding a series of TTT2 tournaments. The event kicks off on Sept. 13 at 5:00pm Japan time (1:00am PST / 4:00am EST), while the stream on Sunday airs at 12:30pm Japan time (8:30pm PST / 11:30pm EST). TFG will have posted all the TEKKEN 7 details as soon as they become available... Stay tuned!

KOF '98: Ultimate Match "Final Edition" and KOF 2002: Unlimited Match Match Coming to Steam

SNK Playmore released an official PDF file listing off their upcoming titles for iOS / Android systems and Steam (mostly). The only fighting games on the list are King of Fighters '98: Ultimate Match Final Edition and King of Fighters 2002: Unlimited Match, which are finally coming to Steam later this year. It's unclear what will be included in the "Final Edition" for KOF '98: Ultimate Match, but it may be a port of the NESiCAXLive port featuring stats and online leaderboards.

Amy Coming To Soul Calibur: Lost Swords Next Week, September Update Improves Loading Times

Making her return from 2008's Soul Calibur IV, Amy is the latest character to appear in Soul Calibur: Lost Swords. Amy will become unlockable starting on Sept. 11th. In related news, the September patch (1.2) is now available, which significantly improves loading times and stability for online features. Goro Confirmed as Pre-Order Bonus For Mortal Kombat X, Release Date Confirmed for April 14th 2015

NetherRealm Studios and Warner Bros. Interactive have confirmed that Mortal Kombat X will be available on April 14th, 2014. Ed Boon released this image via Twitter, confirming the return of the original Mortal Kombat sub boss, Goro. Pre-ordering MKX will have Goro available as a playable character from the start. Otherwise, Goro will be paid DLC.

New Guilty Gear Xrd -SIGN- Scans Reveal Elphelt Gameplay Details & Profile Info + HD Quality Poster

Today's new Famitsu scans shed a bit more light on Guilty Gear Xrd SIGN's new character, Elphelt. Not only do the new "HD quality" scans provide a closer look at the female gunner, but some fresh details have been translated. For starters... One of her attacks involves champagne, and her Overdrive has her opponent stuffed into a giant wedding cake before she slices it in half. Suzaku over at Dustloop also translated Elphelt's and Sin's profiles & movelists.

Brand New Guilty Gear Xrd -SIGN- Character, Elphelt, Set To Appear in Console Versions as DLC

Meet Guilty Gear Xrd's newest character, Elphelt, a female gunner. The first scans from Famitsu reveal that Elphelt is a long range fighter who uses rifles and shotguns (at the least). As a gunner, she'll have some unique gameplay attributes such as aiming while reloading, which Arc System Works has compared to "FPS-like" controls. In Japan, Elphelt will be a free DLC character for the first-print copies of the game (and later will cost 800 Yen).

Capcom & Dimps Collaborating To Work on "Next Generation" Fighting Game

Capcom's Yoshinori Ono revealed on Twitter that his team and Dimps (the developers behind the Street Fighter IV series, SFXT & Rumble Fish) are currently looking for staff to work on a new "next generation fighting game". One would assume that a Capcom-developed fighting game for PS4/Xbox One is inevitable. The question is... what could it be? Street Fighter 5? Darkstalkers 4? Rival Schools 3? Capcom VS Capcom? Ono might've dropped some hints...

At last weekend's DOA5U Arcade Summer Carnival tournament in Japan, Koei Tecmo's Yosuke Hayashi announced DOA5: Last Round for current and last-gen consoles (and released this trailer). Akira & Pai Playable in Playstation 3 / PS Vita Versions of Denkegi Bunko Fighting Climax

Akira Yuki and Pai Chan of Virtua Fighter fame previously appeared as boss characters in the arcade version of Dengeki Bunko Fighting Climax. At this past weekend's, Summer Dengeki Bunko Fighting Festival tournament in Japan, Sega announced that Akira Yuki (with Pai as an assist character) will become part of the playable roster in the PS3 and PS Vita versions of the game. Some new illustrations by Eiri Iwamoto were also shown.

SNK Registers Trademarks For The Last Blade, KOF, Maximum Impact & Athena Asamiya

All this month, SNK has been celebrating the 20th anniversary of The King of Fighters franchise. The first title, KOF '94 is now exactly 20 years old (released Aug. 25th, 1994 on MVS). While SNK hasn't officially announced anything new (besides hinting a new 3D KOF title), trademark_bot picked up on some recent trademark filings from SNK, which include: The Last Blade, KOF, Maximum Impact & Athena. This doesn't "confirm" any new titles, but we can hope something is in the works!

Persona 4 Arena: Ultimax Console Opening Movie

Atlus just uploaded the full introduction movie for Persona 4 Arena: Ultimax (known as P4U: The Ultimax Ultra Suplex Hold in Japan, of course). The 1 & 1/2 minute console opening shows off anime-style sequences of returning characters and newcomers alike. Persona 4 Arena: Ultimax will be released in Japan this Thursday (Aug. 28th) and is coming to North America on September 30th.

4 Classic Capcom Fighting Games Coming To Taito's
NESiCAxLive Arcade Platform in Japan

Today at the Isshun Sengeki Cup fighting game tournament in Japan, Capcom announced that 4 of their classic titles will be making their way to Taito's NESiCAxLive arcade platform. Hyper Street Fighter II, Street Fighter III: 3rd Strike, Street Fighter Alpha 3 and Vampire Savior will become available on the network, complete with widescreen support. All 4 titles will also support player name display, and a mobile site will track battle records.

Soul Calibur's Sophitia Appears in Her Own Trailer For Warriors Orochi 3: Ultimate

What is Bandai Namco's Sophitia Alexandra doing in a Tecmo Koei "one versus tons" 3D brawler? ...Who the heck knows... but Tecmo Koei's latest trailer for the game finally shows off some Sophitia action. Back in August 2013, we first reported that Sophitia would be a guest character in Warriors Orochi 3: Ultimate (alongside several other guest characters). Arc System Works Reveals Limited Edition Guilty Gear Xrd SIGN 6-Button PS4/PS3 Fighter's Pad 

Arc System Works has announced a limited edition version of Guilty Gear Xrd -SIGN- for Playstation 4 in Japan, which will come packaged with an exclusive 6-button fighter's pad (that works with both PS4 & PS3). The Japanese PS4 limited edition will also include a Guilty Gear Vocal Collection CD (first print bonus) along with another item that has yet to be revealed. Blazblue: Clone Phantasma Arrives in Nintendo 3DS

It's possible you haven't heard of the 3DS eShop title, Blazblue: Clone Phantasma... since Arc System Works hasn't said much about the cutesy, chibi style "action battle" spin-off in North America (until recently). Clone Phantasma is the sequel to 2010's 3D arena brawler / action title, BlayzBloo: Super Melee Brawlers Battle Royale. Clone Phantasma was released in Japan in Dec. 2012 and will finally hit the 3DS eShop in North America this Thursday, priced at $5.99.

Guilty Gear XX #Reload Comes To Steam Sept. 5th

KISS Ltd. and Funbox Media are bringing Guilty Gear XX #Reload to Steam next month. #Reload will join the only other title in the series currently available on Steam, Guilty Gear Isuka. The decision to re-release a "middle" installment in such a long-running, heavily-updated series is questionable (and likely disappointing to some), especially since #Reload was originally ported to PC in 2004-2006. Nonetheless, it might be worth picking up for hardcore fans of this installment.

MKX Kano Variations Images & HD Screenshots

NetherRealm Studios recently uploaded images of Kano's 3 Variations in MKX on the official Mortal Kombat Facebook page. Persona 4 Arena Ultimax Lobby System Avatars & Arcades (Video), Plus New Margaret Screenshots

Atlus released a new trailer revealing Persona 4 Arena: Ultimax's innovative new online battle lobby system! The lobby system enables players to freely control character avatars around virtual arcades to find opponents. Each arcade represents a different location within the Persona 4 universe. In addition, check out some new screenshots featuring DLC character Margaret, which reveal that she can use a ton of different Persona cards (up to 9).

Killer Instinct Season 2 Coming October 15th

If you're looking forward to picking up Season 2 of Killer Instinct on Xbox One, you'll finally be able to get your hands on T. J. Combo and Maya on October 15th. With Season 2, Killer Instinct will also receive a new interface and (eventually) 8 new fighters. Season 2 will be offered in two different packages, Ultra Edition ($39.99), which comes with all fighters, costumes & accessories along with a copy of KI2, and the Combo Breaker pack ($19.99) which includes only the 8 fighters.

Peripheral Transforms 3DS XL Into Arcade Stick

Even though the Nintendo 3DS doesn't have nearly as many fighting game options as PS Vita, there's a new accessory coming out (Oct. 31st) that will transform a 3DS XL into a mini arcade stick. The Cyber Arcade Stick is an easy-to-attach peripheral exclusively for the 3DS XL, adding an arcade style joystick over the D-pad and slightly larger buttons (still only 4 buttons). It probably won't have "true" arcade quality accuracy, but it looks kinda neat.

New Tekken 7 Concept Art Shows Potential Arab Fighter, Harada Asks For Community Feedback

A couple weeks ago, TEKKEN producer Katsuhiro Harada expressed interest in creating a new Arab character for TEKKEN 7, asking Middle Eastern TEKKEN fans  what type of character design they'd like to see (via Twitter). Earlier today, Harada-san posted the first concept artwork of the potential new Arabian fighter character on the official TEKKEN Facebook page, and once again has asked for community feedback. I'd say he looks pretty badass for an early concept...

Dengeki Bunko Fighting Climax is Coming To PS3 & Vita November 13th in Japan, New Trailer

Via a new trailer, Sega announced a Japanese release date for the light novel crossover fighting game, Dengeki Bunko Fighting Climax. DBFC originally released in arcades on March 18th of this year, and will be coming out for Playstation 3 and PS Vita in Japan on November 13th. There is still no word on a localization, but overseas PS3 / Vita owners can easily import and check out the game.

GGXrd -SIGN- Hits Consoles in Japan December 4th, North America Release Still Expected in Fall 2014

This week's Famitsu confirmed that Guilty Gear Xrd -SIGN- will be released on PS3 & PS4 in Japan on December 4th. The last release date for North America given by Arc System Works was "Fall 2014"... so before you go importing, keep in mind that North America might be getting GGXrd before Japan. Just to review, the PS3 / PS4 versions of GGXrd will feature cross-play functionality, an enhanced story mode, and a new character, Sin Kiske (and possibly other new fighters as well).

Atlus USA Confirms Persona 4 Arena: Ultimax Release Date on September 30th in North America

Atlus USA officially confirmed the North American release date for Persona 4 Arena: Ultimax via Twitter earlier today. Playstation 3 and Xbox 360 players can get their hands on P4A: Ultimax on Tuesday, Sept. 30th. (Just for the record, this release date has been posted on TFG's P4AU profile for several months now... so this isn't actually "news" for all of you frequent TFG'ers). Margaret Will Be Playable in Persona 4 Arena: Ultimax, Famitsu Unveils First Screenshots

Welcome back to the Velvet Room... because Marie isn't the final DLC character for Persona 4 Arena: Ultimax! This week's Famitsu confirms that Margaret will be joining her velvet room companion and the P4A: Ultimax roster as a DLC character. New Blazblue: Chrono Phantasma Trailer Shows Off Celica A. Mercury & Lambda-11

Arc System Works just released their first official trailer showing off Celica A. Mercury and Lambda-11 in Blazblue: Chrono Phantasma. Currently, these two characters from the ver. 2.0 update are on location test in Japan arcades. The 2.0 update is expected to be released in arcades this Fall. There's still no word on any potential console release for Celica or Lambda-11.

New Mortal Kombat X Video Demonstrates Raiden's 3 Variations With Commentary From Ed Boon

Veteran MK kombatant, Raiden, was unveiled at last month's EVO 2014 along with a gameplay trailer. Today, there's a new trailer out which demonstrates each of Raiden's "Variations" in the game and features full commentary by Creative Director Ed Boon. The names of Raiden's 3 Variations are as follows: Thunder God, Displacer, and Master of Storms. In the video, Ed Boon also drops some minor storyline details regarding Raiden and Kotal Kahn.

Nyotengu Headed to DOA5: Ultimate in September

This past June, Team Ninja unveiled a new playable character for the arcade version of DOA5: Ultimate, the female Tengu (Nyotengu). While Nyotengu has been playable in the arcade version for a while, Team Ninja confirmed on Twitter today that the new character is coming to consoles early next month. Nyotengu becomes available in North America on PS3 & 360 on Sept. 2nd (and Sept. 3rd in Europe).

SNK Confirms New 3D King of Fighters Game is in Development

Back in May 2013, SNK posted job listings for new 3D KOF and Samurai Spirits titles. Unfortunately those turned out to be Japan-only Pachinko games, but SNK's latest KOF teaser looks more promising! Posted on the SNKP website are job openings for programmers & tech / CG designers experienced with consoles to work on a new KOF title aiming to "change the history of fighting games". Latest Guilty Gear Xrd -SIGN- PS3/PS4 Version Features Revealed By Famitsu

This week's Famitsu magazine just unveiled some new console exclusive features for the upcoming PS3/PS4 cross-platform fighting game, Guilty Gear Xrd -SIGN-. For starters, 8-player battle lobbies will allow for multiple concurrent matches within the same room. Along with standard spectating enabled, you can also challenge any other player in the lobby while waiting. GGXrd will also contain elaborate Practice options, such as: Tutorial, Mission, Challenge & Training.

Ten Year Anniversary of EVO Moment #37

The epic conclusion to Evolution 2004's Street Fighter III: 3rd Strike losers finals match between Justin Wong and Daigo Umehara is quite possibly the single most defining moment in competitive fighting game history. Watching Daigo's Ken masterfully parry Chun Li's entire flurry of kicks never gets old, and it's almost hard to believe that this historic match is now 10 years old. Images of Sub-Zero's Mortal Kombat X Variations

Last week, NetherRealm Studios revealed some images showing D'Vorah's variations in MKX. Now it's time to check out Sub-Zero's 3 variations: Grandmaster, Unbreakable and Cryomancer. Retail Version of KI (2013) Coming This September

Apart from the limited "Pin Ultimate Edition", the Killer Instinct reboot on Xbox One has been available through digital download only. Microsoft just announced that a disc version is finally planned and has shown the tentative cover artwork for the title. The retail version will be based on the earlier Combo Breaker pack which features the first 8 characters. The retail copy will also include a code for Season 2 character, T. J. Combo, and will be released Sept. 23rd for $19.99.

Third Ultra SF4 Retail Costumes Trailer

Capcom has released the third promotional trailer highlighting some of the "100" alternate costumes that will come free with the retail version of Ultra Street Fighter IV. In this trailer, all of the original Street Fighter IV newcomers and crossover characters from SFIII: 3rd Strike show off their alternate costumes and color swaps.

Persona 4 Arena: Ultimax's Marie Free DLC For Week 1

Looks like 2D fighting game players will have even more incentive to pick up Persona 4 Arena: Ultimax on Playstation 3 or Xbox 360 this September. In addition to Adachi, Persona 4 Golden's Marie will be released as free DLC for the first week of the game's release in North America. After that, Adachi and Marie will become paid DLC. P4A: Ultimax's release date in North America is set for Sept. 30th, 2014 for both PS3 and Xbox 360.

SDCC '14 Bandai Namco Fighting Game Panel Video

At this past weekend's San Diego Comic-Con, TEKKEN producer Katsuhiro Harada, game designer Michael Murray, and community manager Mark "Markman" Julio were all present at the Bandai Namco Fighting Game Panel where the new Tekken 7 story trailer and concept artwork was first revealed. SDCC '14: Ultra SF4 Summer Costumes Screenshots

At San Diego Comic-Con 2014, Yoshinori Ono announced that a new set of "Summer-themed" costumes are coming to Ultra Street Fighter IV. Previously only low-quality blurry images were available online, but Capcom has now released clear screenshots of the new costumes for all 44 characters in the game. Among the typical swimsuits and Summer attire, a few noteworthy mentions include scuba gear for Guile (and a homage to D. Dark from SFEX)...

SDCC '14: "Street Fighter: World Warrior" Season 2 of Street Fighter: Assassin's Fist Announced

The fan-approved live action series, Street Fighter: Assassin's Fist, will be continued! Announced today at SDCC, Street Fighter: World Warrior is the official title of Season 2. Joey Ansah is returning to write and direct World Warrior, planned to premiere in late 2015 / early 2016. World Warrior will continue with Ryu & Ken's storyline but is said to have a much larger scale, introducing the Shadaloo organization along with Guile, Chun-li & Sagat. (Source: SFAF Facebook).

TEKKEN fans have anxiously been awaiting this weekend's San Diego Comic-Con 2014 for more news on Bandai Namco's latest fighting game, TEKKEN 7. NetherRealm Studios Provides Details & Images For D'Vorah's Three Variations in Mortal Kombat X

As you might already know, each character in MKX will have access to three "Variations" which enables specific moves and slightly alters their appearance. On the official MKX Facebook page, NetherRealm posted some high quality images of D'Vorah and her three variations. Not only do the images show off her visual alterations, but each one gives a brief description of her abilities. D'Vorah's three variations are Swarm Queen, Brood Mother & Venomous.

Persona 4 Arena: Ultimax Marie Trailer, Plus English Trailers For Rise, Junpei & Yukari

Today, Atlus released a new Persona 4 Arena: Ultimax trailer showing off Persona 4 Golden's Marie in action for the first time. The trailer is in Japanese so the story segment won't be clear, but there are at least 20 seconds of Marie gameplay footage. Also check out recently released English trailers for Rise, Junpei and Yukari. Persona 4 Arena: Ultimax will be released in North America on September 16th for Playstation 3 and Xbox 360.

Two New Dengeki Bunko Fighting Climax Trailers

Check out two new trailers for Sega's crossover 2D fighter, Dengeki Bunko Fighting Climax, including one that was just released today. The first trailer features Yukina Himeragi from Strike the Blood aquaring off against Shana from Shakugan no Shana. Also check out Yukina from Strike the Blood and Rentaro Satomi from Black Bullet versus Asuna from Sword Art Online. These characters are set to be released in the arcade version next week.

Ultra SF4 Retail Version Alt. Costumes Trailers

Last week, Capcom UK released an Ultra SF4 trailer showing the many alternate costumes (and color swaps) that will be available in the upcoming retail disc version. The second costumes trailer was uploaded earlier today, showing even more characters and costumes. Indeed, you've probably already seen all of Ultra SF4's costumes, but the videos might be worth a watch... I don't know about that soundtrack, however. Mute button for the win.

King of Fighters '98 To Receive
ios/Android Port

One of the most iconic King of Fighters titles of all time is coming to smart phones and mobile devices. The iOS/Android port of KOF '98 aims to be arcade perfect, featuring all 38 playable characters. The title will feature a 4-button classic layout as well as a unique 6-button control scheme with "simplified special moves" via the "SP" button. Blazblue: Chrono Phantasma Arcade Version Will Add Celica A. Mercury & Lambda-11 This Fall

This week's Famitsu confirmed that 2 new characters will be added to the arcade version of Blazblue: Chrono Phantasma this Fall. Celica Ayatsuki Mercury and the returning Lambda-11 will be included in the Fall 2014 update. Celica is a mage who specializes in healing magic and fights alongside the Minerva, similar to Carl and Relius. Persona 4 Arena: Ultimax Adds Another DLC Character, Marie, From Persona 4 Golden

P4A: Ultimax will be adding yet another new fighter! The poetry-writing, striped socks-wearing antisocial girl from Persona 4 Golden will be joining the roster as DLC. Marie uses Kaguya as her persona and has several long-ranged attacks & pokes. She will fight using various items from her bag. Famitsu also reports that online lobbies will have a chat feature and players can control avatars to explore locations such as school and Junes. Check out the first screenshots of Marie!

EVO '14: Tekken 7 Announced, Teaser Trailer

Earlier today, an IGN news video leaked the reveal of Tekken 7, which Katsuhiro Harada officially announced later at EVO '14. Tekken 7 will run on Unreal Engine 4, making it convenient for Bandai Namco to bring the game to any platform of their choice. Here's the promotional image of the Tekken 7 logo and finally, the Tekken 7 announcement trailer revealed at EVO 2014. More details on Tekken 7 will become available on July 25th at the San Diego Comic-Con fighting panel.

EVO '14: Maya Confirmed For Killer Instinct Season 2

The first major announcement to come out of EVO '14 is from Iron Galaxy Studios, the new developers of Killer Instinct on Xbox One. Alongside T. J. Combo, Maya (from KI2) is set to return in Season 2! Iron Galaxy stated that Maya's play style will revolve around her pair of daggers which can be leveled up and combined for new attacks. Daggers that miss their target will fall to the ground and can be picked up. Check out the first promotional image of Maya in the new KI.

Skullgirls Encore Coming To PS4 & PS Vita This Year

Playstation.Blog confirmed this evening that Skullgirls Encore is headed to Playstation Vita and Playstation 4 later this year. The PS4 and PS Vita versions of  the game will be "complete," including all of the DLC characters, stages and story funded by Lab Zero's Indiegogo campaign. Concept Artwork From Canceled "Power Stone-Style" WWE Fighting Game (WWE Brawl) Emerges

A 3D "Power Stone-style" fighting game with reimagined designs of classic and current WWE superstars (titled WWE Brawl) was planned for a 2012 release, but was eventually canceled. A batch of WWE Brawl concept artwork created by Rich Lyons recently body-slammed the web, showing off the "exaggerated" designs for several iconic wrestlers, including: "Stone Cold" Steve Austin, Big Show, Rey Mysterio, and even Vince McMahon controlling a giant mech.

Under Night In-Birth Exe:Late Coming To Playstation 3 in North America in 2015

If you were worried about Under Night In-Birth not seeing a localized English release, worry no more! Aksys Games confirmed today that Under Night In-Birth Exe:Late will be coming to to PS3 in North America sometime in 2015. So far, 2 additional characters and 8 modes (including Network Battle with 8-player battle lobbies) have been confirmed for the console port. No further details on the English version have been announced just yet, but we'll keep you updated.

Persona 4 Arena: Ultimax's Tohru Adachi Will Be Free DLC At North American Launch, New Screens

It's been confirmed that in North America, Persona 4 Arena: Ultimax's Togru Adachi will be a free DLC character for 1 week after the game launches. The "Egocentric Police Dick" uses Magatsu Inzanagi as his persona, and will have a variety of interesting color schemes, including one inspired by The Joker from Batman. Sin Kiske Confirmed Playable in Playstation 3 & Playstation 4 Versions of Guilty Gear Xrd -SIGN-

Back in March, we took note of Sin Kiske's appearance in Guilty Gear Xrd -SIGN- via several screenshots. Today, Famitsu officially confirmed that Sin Kiske (son of Ky Kiske & Dizzy) will be the first console exclusive character to be added to the PS3/PS4 ports of the game. Sin Kiske made his first appearance in 2007's real-time strategy spin-off, Guilty Gear 2: Overture. Details on Sin are scarce currently, but he will have a "Full Stomach" meter which is used for his special moves.

Capcom's Yoshinori Ono Working on New PS4 Title

In addition to the PS4 exclusive title, Deep Down, it seems Capcom's Yoshinori Ono is working on yet another new PS4 game. A listing for an "unreleased PS4 title" with a "201X" placeholder release date has recently popped up on Ono's LinkedIn profile. Of course, us fighters would love to think this is a new fighting game... such as Darkstalkers 4 or even a next-gen port of Ultra SF4. Nothing is confirmed yet, but we certainly haven't forgotten about Hadouken Cabs.
