DOA5: Last Round Netplay Patch Delayed Indefinitely

The "PC Master Wait" strikes again.... Back in March, Team Ninja released DOA5:LR on PC without netplay, declaring that a patch would add online mode to the port in 3 months time. Exactly 3 months later (today), Team Ninja has announced that the netplay patch has been delayed indefinitely due to "major issues" discovered in the beta test (including frequent crashes). No new release window has been provided, but Team Ninja promises to keep everyone up to date. (Source: Team Ninja)

MKX Predator Variations Images, 20 Mins of Gameplay

Mortal Kombat X's upcoming guest DLC character and movie icon, Predator, will be arriving sometime in July. To hold you over, enjoy 20 minutes of Predator gameplay and high quality images of each Predator Variation! As previously reported, Predator's Variations are in line with the various types of Predators from the movies: Warrior, Hunter and Hish-qu-ten. A Preview of UDON's Latest Street Fighter Comic, "The Life and Death(s) of Charlie Nash"

No doubt old school Street Fighter fans are ecstatic to see Charlie's long-awaited return happening in SF5. Not only because he's a cool and fun to use character; Charlie's backstory has always been intriguing... especially since he technically "died" in SFA3. UDON's new 48-page comic will tell the story of Charlie Nash from his older days to present. Check out some preview pages of the book.

Predator "Koming Soon" to Mortal Kombat X, First Predator Screenshot & New Alt. Costumes

Yesterday, Ed Boon tweeted the first screenshot showing Predator in MKX gameplay which also shows Jax in his alternate "Carl Weathers" costume. While no exact date has been announced, Predator is expected to arrive in MKX sometime this July. Predator's 3 variations have been confirmed as: Warrior, Hunter and Hish-Qu-Ten. In addition, some screenshots of new MKX alternate costumes popped up on PSN.

Guilty Gear Xrd -SIGN- Free With PS+ in Japan

If you happen to have a Japanese PSN account with Playstation Plus and a PS4, Guilty Gear Xrd -SIGN- is currently available to download for free. You could even sign up for a free PS+ trial and play the game until July 7th, when the deal expires. To play GGXrd after July 7th, of course you'll need to have an active Japan PS+ account. There's currently no word or indication that GGXrd -SIGN- might become a free PS+ title in other regions.

Dengeki Bunko Fighting Climax Update Titled, Location Tests Begin This Weekend

Sega's 2D crossover anime fighter hasn't even been released overseas yet, but the update to the arcade version has officially been titled. Dengeki Bunko Fighting Climax IGNITION will feature at least 2 new playable characters, balance & gameplay changes, and is planned for release in Q3 2015. Location tests will be held this weekend in Japan at the following arcades: Club Sega Akihabara (Tokyo), Club Sega Shinjuku (Tokyo), and Sega Namba Avion (Osaka).

Daigo Umehara 'Fighting Gamers' Manga Vol. #2

Mad Catz' Daigo Umehara has undoubtedly achieved celebrity status in the fighting game universe since EVO Moment #37 in 2004. Back in 2014, a manga about Daigo was released, colorfully telling the story of his competitive fighting game career. Volume 2 of the manga, titled Umehara: Fighting Gamers! 2, hits stores in Japan this Friday, June 26th. Manga publisher Kadokawa just released a trailer for Vol. 2. The manga is currently available at Amazon Japan.

Latest MKX Patch Adds Brutalities, Balance Changes, Improves Controller Functionality

NetherRealm Studios recently launched the latest MKX patch. Before this patch, players using older peripherals (such as PS3 fight sticks) were forced to keep native controllers (ex: DualShock 4). This patch implements the legacy controller support as originally intended, allowing players to turn off the native system controllers. Also added in the update are brand new Brutalities and many character balance changes. Read the full patch notes over at WBGames.

Street Fighter 5 Beta Testing Details From Capcom

Planning on pre-ordering Street Fighter 5 early to gain early access to the beta? Capcom Unity posted all the details regarding the SF5 beta program today, including how beta keys will be distributed. How to access the SF5 Beta will differ depending on what region you live in. In North America, users will get guaranteed beta access by pre-ordering SF5 from PSN, Amazon, Best Buy or Gamestop. Beta keys will be emailed from the retailer you pre-ordered from starting on July 20th.

Tekken 7 U.S.A. Location Tests Planned For July

With appearances at major tournaments like Final Round and CEO (this weekend), U.S.A. TEKKEN players haven't been entirely left out of the TEKKEN 7 beta testing fun. Looks like some players planning on entering T7 at EVO '15 will get more time to practice, as T7 location tests will be held at several "Round 1" centers across the U.S. Confirmed locations include: Puente Hills Mall in City of Industry, CA, Stratford Square Mall in Bloomingdale, IL and Southcenter Mall in Seattle, WA.

SF5 E3 '15 Interview With Capcom's Matt Dahlgren

During E3 '15, Sony did a video interview with Matt Dahlgren of Capcom, who made some interesting statements on SF5. To highlight a few: "Birdie sets the tone for our direction for the roster," and "if you're a Street Fighter fan, the next 3 or 4 years are going to be awesome." Matt also mentions Capcom's "renewed focus on online play," stating that the upcoming SF5 public beta test will allow Capcom to test out their "new online infrastructure". SF5 Playable at Six Flags Locations Across U.S.A.

Beginning July 6th, Street Fighter 5 will be showcased at several Six Flags locations across the United States, including: Los Angeles, San Francisco, Dallas, San Antonio, St. Louis, Atlanta, Chicago, Washington DC, New Jersey and Boston. This promotional poster lists the various Six Flags locations and dates SF5 will be available to the generic public.

Killer Instinct (KI3) Update 2.8 Adds Rival Story Mode, Season 2 Finale Trailer, Full Patch Notes

There's no denying Killer Instinct (KI3) has come a very long way since its 2013 launch. Today, Iron Galaxy released a new Season 2 Finale trailer to show just how far the game has come and announce some of the new content rolling out in today's 2.8 update. Project X Zone 2 E3 '15 Trailer shows Ryu, Ken, Kazuya, Jin, Akira & Kage-maru in Gameplay

Bandai Namco debuted a new Project X Zone 2 trailer at E3 '15. The E3 trailer for the upcoming tactical crossover RPG shows off some flashy combo-oriented gameplay featuring several playable characters from the fighting game universe, including icons from Street Fighter, TEKKEN and Virtua Fighter. Megaman X and Zero also make an appearance.

Killer Instinct (KI3) Announced For Windows 10

Xbox One's only exclusive fighting game won't be exclusive for much longer. Microsoft's Phil Spencer announced tonight (along with the official KI Twitter) that KI3 will indeed be coming to PC! No release date or details have been announced, but with Windows 10 arriving July 29th, one would hope KI3 won't be far behind. KI3 will also feature cross-play between PC & XB1, and Iron Galaxy Studios themselves will be working on the PC port.

Street Fighter 5 E3 Trailer Reveals Cammy & Birdie, Plus Character Artwork & 20 HD Screens

During Sony's E3 press conference tonight, a new trailer for Street Fighter 5 was shown and 2 new challengers have been revealed! Series veterans Cammy and Birdie will be returning in SF5. The highly anticipated title also has a new release window of "Spring 2016". In addition, beta access for PS4 players will be held July 23-28 for those who pre-order on PSN or from select retailers.

Akira, Jacky & Heihachi Mii Fighter Costumes Now Available in Super Smash Bros. for Wii U

Super Smash Bros. on Wii U gets even more fighting game love besides Ryu now being playable. Virtua Fighter and Tekken Mii fighter costumes are also currently available, which include Akira Yuki, Jacky Bryant and Heihachi Mishima! In Nintendo's announcement video, the VF characters are revealed at 3:30. Heihachi is revealed at 16.33.

Street Fighter's Ryu Joins Smash Bros. for Wii U

A rumor popped up back in April that Ryu (Street Fighter) and Roy (Fire Emblem) may eventually be added to Super Smash Bros. for Wi U after a Reddit user found sound files for both characters within an online update. It even contained files for Ryu's Stage theme song.... Well it's ALL true. Today's leak appears to be the result of the latest update for SSB Wii U going live in Japan earlier than intended. Ultra SF4 PS4 Patch 1.03 is Live, Reduces Input Lag

Early adopters of Ultra Street Fighter IV on PS4 can expect another improvement to the port, as the latest patch (1.03) has gone live. Street Fighter 5 Character Art + 25 HD Screens Revealed Ahead of E3 2015, Stun Gauge Confirmed

Early this morning, some awesome "HD quality" Street Fighter 5 images were leaked online just ahead of E3 2015 (June 16-18)! Included is the first Street Fighter 5 character artwork for all 4 confirmed fighters so far, along with 25 HD screenshots which show off the new London stage and give the best glimpse of the in-game art direction and graphics. Also worth pointing out is the updated HUD display and the return of the 3rd Strike style Stun Gauge!

Yatagarasu: Attack on Cataclysm Hits Steam July 7th

It's been a long time coming... but after a successful crowdfunding campaign (and many delays, with inconsistent release announcements), Yatagarasu: Attack on Cataclysm is finally getting an official English release! While the impending PS4, XB1 & Vita versions are currently still a mystery, Yatagarasu hits Steam July 7th, 2015 for $14.99. Note that the game will launch without GGPO support and other "campaign perk-related elements," but will be added at a later date.  (Source: Steam)

GGXrd -Revelator- Johnny / Jack-O Loketest Footage

The first loketests for Guilty Gear Xrd: Revelator's were held this past weekend at several locations in Japan. That means we get to have a glimpse of the new female Guilty Gear character, Jack-O. Street Fighter 5 Ryu Promotional Card, Vine Videos For All 4 Confirmed Fighters

Capcom recently released a new promotional SF5 image online in the form of a trading card. The card lists Ryu's occupation (Martial Artist, of course), fighting style (Ansatsuken) and Skills (can sleep anywhere, lol). The card also lists Ryu's main appearances as "SF2: Turbo, SF3: 3rd Strike & SF4"... not very comprehensive, but whatever. In addition, Ryu's 6-second vine video was added to the official Street Fighter channel. Check out all SF5 character vines here.

Tekken 7 "G15" Arcade Update Adds Costumes, Graphical Effects & Balance Changes

With recent time release characters and frequent online updates, TEKKEN 7 continues to evolve in Japan arcades. The latest online update titled "G15" adds a bunch of alternate costumes for several characters, enhanced graphical effects for floor wall & floor breaks, and a few character specific balance tweaks. A new Team System for arcade players was also added to Tekken-net.

"Jack-O" Officially Revealed For Guilty Gear Xrd: Revelator, Early Character Select Screen Shown

Guilty Gear Xrd: Revelator's new female character has officially been unveiled via character art & screenshots. According to the story, Jack O is one of "That Man's" servants similar to I-No and Raven. As far as fighting style goes, no details on Jack O's playstyle have yet been given... but "comical" attacks, pumpkins, and trickery seem to be involved.

Mortal Kombat X Tanya Official Trailer, All Fatalities, Brutalities, Variations Gameplay & Ending

Today, NetherRealm Studios released the official trailer for Tanya, MKX's next DLC character. The trailer shows off some Tanya gameplay and a preview of one of her Fatalities. Tanya's 3 Variations are: Pyromancer, Kobu Jutsu, and Dragon Naginata. Tanya will become available tomorrow for players who purchased the Kombat Pack. As DLC, Tanya will be available for purchase on June 9th for $4.99 (or $7.99 with klassic costume bundle).

Capcom & Sony Acknowledge and Are Looking Into Problems in PS4 Port of Ultra Street Fighter 4

You might've heard that Ultra SF4 launched on PS4 with quite a few problems, including: higher latency, graphical glitches (like invisible sonic booms), and sound glitches. With most speculators pointing the finger at SCEA's third part affiliate (who was in charge of the PS4 port), both Sony & Capcom have been quick to acknowledge the issues. Capcom's statement on Capcom Unity today confirms that they are looking into the problems and are working to resolve them quickly.

Killer Instinct Aria Official Trailer, Available May 29th

The official trailer for Killer Instinct's final Season 2 character was released tonight. Aria's trailer gives you an idea of what the new character is all about, both in terms of story and gameplay. Tanya Playable in Mortal Kombat X on June 2nd

NetherRealm Studios' Ed Boon confirmed today via Twitter that the next MKX DLC character, Tanya, will become playable on June 2nd for those who purchased the Kombat Pack. For everyone else, Tanya will become available for purchase individually on June 9th. The update that makes Tanya playable will also add classic MK1 costumes for Sonya, Kano & Liu Kang. Tanya will soon be followed by the releases of Predator & Tremor to wrap up the MKX season pass.

Guilty Gear Xrd -Revelator- Announced For Arcade, Will Add Johnny And Another Newcomer

Dengeki Bunko Fighting Climax Update Will Add New Character & Tweaks To Arcade Version

Sega announced that a new version of Dengeki Bunko Fighting Climax (currently untitled) is being developed for Japan arcades. The update will add Emi Yuusa from The Devil is a Part-Timer to the playable roster and some balance changes. Here are some screenshots featuring Emi. An English version of DBFC is planned for release this Summer on PS3/Vita, so one would hope that the English release will be this latest version of the game...

Under Night In-Birth EXE:Late[st]'s New Character, Phonon, in Location Test Footage

Location tests for Under Night In-Birth Exe:Late[st] wrapped up in Japan arcades over the weekend, and players were able to test out the new balance changes along with the new female character, Phonon. Wielding a whip, Phonon uses a variety of long-range, screen-covering attacks and projectiles to keep opponents at bay. Street Fighter 5 To Make Playable Debut at CEO '15

Upcoming major tournament CEO 2015 (June 26-28) in Orlando, Florida will not only have TEKKEN 7 playable at the event (with the latest released characters: Jack-7 & Yoshimitsu), but will also host the first playable demo of Street Fighter V! This is the first time a SF5 demo will become available to the public. That said, no doubt CEO '15 will be one of the premiere fighting game tournaments of the year! (And TFG will be there!) A trailer for CEO '15 was also revealed today.

GGXrd -SIGN- Gets European Release June 3rd, GGXX Accent Core Plus R Coming To Steam May 26th

Arc System Works just unveiled some new release dates that might interest Guilty Gear fans. First, Sony announced GGXrd -SIGN- will launch digitally in Europe on June 3rd for PS4 & PS3 (for 39.99 and 32.99 respectively). Secondly, GGXX AC+R will see a Steam release on May 26th (no price info given). Fans that pick up the Steam port will also get a free soundtrack. Killer Instinct Aria Reveal, Gameplay Demo

Meet Aria, Killer Instinct's newest character (and soon to be the game's final boss). The new character was revealed today at this weekend's Combo Breaker 2015 tournament in Chicago. Aria is a very unique character, functioning as a "team of 3" and actually has 3 health bars. Ultra SF4 Hits Ps4 Next Tuesday (May 26th) And is Compatible With PS3 Fight Sticks

With the PS4 release of Ultra SF4 coming up next Tuesday (May 26th), Sony and Capcom announced today that the title will also be compatible with PS3 fight sticks! (This cross-compatibility is courtesy of Lab Zero Games, as they previously created the driver for this functionality for Skullgirls.) As previously reported, the PS4 port of Ultra SF4 comes packed with all previous DLC, runs in 1080p / 60fps, eliminates all input lag, and will cost $24.99.

Under Night In-Birth EXE:Late "[st]" Announced, Adds New Character, Mechanics & Balance Tweaks

Arc System Works has announced an update to UNIEL currently planned for the arcade version of the 2D fighter. UNIEL[st] will add a new character named Phonon, at least 1 new stage, new gameplay mechanics, and tweaks & balance updates for existing characters. Mortal Kombat X Patch Notes, Free Reptile Skin

A patch for Mortal Kombat X was released on PS4 today (patch for XB1 & PC versions coming soon). Warner Bros. Games released the full patch notes for this minor update, which includes: character changes, matchmaking improvements, ping meter accuracy improvements, bug/crash fixes, movelist frame data corrections, etc. NetherRealm also threw in a free "klassic" skin for Reptile that you'll get after downloading the patch.

Tekken 7 Yoshimitsu Practice Mode Gameplay

For the first time ever, Yoshimitsu has debuted as a "time release" character in a TEKKEN installment. Now playable, the squid-tacular TEKKEN 7 iteration of Yoshimitsu seems to keep most player-approved abilities intact while adding some new ones. CEO 2015 Persona 4 Arena Ultimax Winner Will Receive Replica "Teddie" Championship Belt

Community Effort Orlando (CEO) has distinguished itself as one of the most uniquely themed major fighting game tournaments around, having finalists compete in an actual wrestling ring and awarding beautiful championship belts to 1st place winners. Tournament organizer Alex Jebailey has taken it a step further this year by teaming up with Altus and creating a replica of the actual "Teddie" championship belt seen in the P4A: Ultimax poster artwork.

Check Out Yoshimitsu's New Look in His Tekken 7 Reveal Trailer, Playable May 12th in Arcades

Bandai Namco just confirmed the return of series veteran, Yoshimitsu, for TEKKEN 7. This doesn't come as much of a surprise since Yoshimitsu never missed a main TEKKEN installment, but his updated appearance and new techniques should keep things interesting at the least. Yoshimitsu will become playable in the arcade version of TEKKEN 7 on May 12th. We'll definitely see more of his new abilities early next week. Check out his official reveal trailer and images!

Tekken 7 - Complete Video Movelist For Gigas

You might've caught the video movelist demonstrations for all of TEKKEN 7's new characters a couple weeks ago. Today, Japanese Youtuber Kitasenju Gao just added the video movelist for TEKKEN 7's monstrous newcomer, Gigas. Without further ado, check out all of Gigas's moves in order... and yes, he's definitely very different from Craig Marduk. The video also shows off a variety of sample combos.

Official Mortal Kombat X Jason Gameplay Trailer

Friday the 13th's Jason Voorhees is the first DLC character for Mortal Kombat X and will be released May 5th. NetherRealm just dropped the first gameplay trailer for Jason, which still mostly acts like a teaser. However, the trailer shows some of Jason's moves and the various ways he can use his trusty machete. *Warning - Extreme Violence & Gore!*

"Vote For The Future of Soul Calibur" in Project Soul's Character Popularity Poll

According to the official Soul Calibur Facebook page: "Project Soul is probably preparing something huge... Stay tuned!" Could it be possible that development has started on a next-gen Soul Calibur title? Skullgirls 2nd Encore To Add Fully-Voiced Story Mode, Challengers & Trials to PS4, Vita Version

This Summer, Skullgirls Encore will be re-released on PS4 & PS Vita as Skullgirls 2nd Encore packing several new features. Firstly, the game's story mode will be fully voiced (the Skullgirls official website also listed all of the voice actors and actresses in the game). Furthermore, 2nd Encore will add Challenge Mode (fight opponents with various battle conditions) and Trials (perform and learn specific character combos, designed to make learning easier).  (Source: Skullgirls.com)

Late April Fools! Galaga: Tekken is a Real Game

On the first of this month, Bandai Namco released a "Galaga: Tekken" mash-up video for April Fools. The video features several Tekken characters such as Heihachi, Kazuya, Alisa and Panda in place of the classic Galaga spaceship and alien insects. With only 2 days left of April, the real April Fools joke is that Galaga: Tekken is a REAL GAME coming to Android/iOS on April 30th for free! Jason & The Horror Pack Hit Mortal Kombat X May 5th (Early Access), on Sale May 12th

Ed Boon recently confirmed on Twitter that Jason Voorhees will arrive in Mortal Kombat X on May 5th (next Tuesday) for those who purchased the promotional DLC content. Jason will also come packaged with 3 "Horror-themed" skins (for Ermac, Mileena and Reptile). The Horror Pack will later be available for anyone to purchase on Tuesday, May 12th. On a related note, TFG's full review of MKX is currently 70% completed... should be online soon!

Capcom Director Hideaki Itsuno Still Wants to Make New Rival Schools Installment

During this past weekend's Niconico Chokaigi event, Capcom's Hideaki Itsuno answered a fan question regarding Rival Schools, and made it clear that he hasn't lost inspiration to revive the series. "I've already thought of a new story," Itsuno said, "so please send your requests to Capcom!" Itsuno made a similar statement back in 2013, stating he'd love to make a third installment. While this should be taken with a grain of salt, at least it's a "shred of hope" for Rival Schools fans.

Killer Instinct - Cinder Official Trailer, Aria Teaser

Iron Galaxy just dropped the official trailer for Killing Instinct veteran, Cinder. The new & improved Cinder will become available on April 30th, 2015 for players with "Season 2 Ultra Edition". The 2-minute trailer is actually fully narrated by Cinder himself (whom might seem a bit cockier than you remember). That classic theme song is unforgettable, though. The end of the trailer also teases the next Season 2 DLC character, Aria.

"Gigas" Revealed For Tekken 7 in Latest Trailer & Images, Arrives in Arcades April 28th

Remember the previously leaked TEKKEN 7 character data from last month? That big red juggernaut is officially named "Gigas" and is TEKKEN 7's latest character. Presented at Capcom's Chokaigi niconico event this weekend, Gigas's 1-minute reveal trailer gives a short preview of TEKKEN 7's sixth new playable character. Players in Japan won't have to wait long to try out Gigas; he hits the arcade version on April 28th!

Josie Rizal was just unlocked via time release in the arcade version of TEKKEN 7. Josie shows off a nice variety of brand new moves (including a raw backward dodge), yet also shares quite a few of Bruce Irvin's famed techniques (indeed suggesting that Bruce will be absent in T7).

First Gameplay Footage of The New Cinder in KI

On Friday, Iron Galaxy Studios showed off the first gameplay footage featuring the latest returning veteran to join Season 2 of Xbox One's Killer Instinct, Cinder. Ultra SF4 Comes To Playstation 4 on May 26th

If you still like to get your Street Fighter IV on, the ultimate version is just around the corner. The PS4 remaster of Ultra SF4 is said to eliminate the PS3 version's input lag and may even become the new tournament standard (CEO '15 will be using PS4 version, for one). Once again, all characters & ALL costume DLC will be available from the start. The digital version will become available May 26th for $24.99 in America & Europe. There is currently no physical version planned.

Josie Rizal Coming to Tekken 7 on April 21st

Josie Rizal, the "much talked about" Filipina, is the next time release character lined up for the arcade version of TEKKEN 7. Once again, Josie uses a fighting style based on Eskrima & Kickboxing (reminiscent of an authentic fighting style called Yaw Yan). So next Tuesday and onwards we'll be learning A LOT more about Josie once Japanese players start testing out her moveset and combos. Beowulf Hits Skullgirls Encore Tomorrow For Free, Robo-Fortune Gameplay Preview

The Indiegogo campaign for new Skullgirls characters ended just over 2 years ago. Fans and supporters have waited patiently for new DLC character releases, and this Friday, Beowulf (a pro wrestler loosely inspired by the famous poem of the same name), will finally become available for download in Skullgirls Encore for FREE. King of Fighters: Maximum Impact 2, KOF 2003 & Samurai Shodown V Now Available on PSN in Japan

Don't pack up your PS3 just yet (or anytime soon)... 3 more classic SNK fighting games have just made their way onto the Japanese Playstation Network store as "PS2 Classics". The PS2 versions of Samurai Shodown 5, KOF 2003, and KOF: Maximum Impact 2 are now available digitally on PSN Japan for 1,000 yen each. Since PS2 classics are region free, anyone can digitally import these titles from the Japan PSN store. Keep in mind these PS2 ports do not have online mode.

Project X Zone 2 Coming West in Fall 2015, Kazuya, Kage-maru, Natsu, Vergil & Others Confirmed

Bandai Namco announced a sequel to the 3DS's tactical crossover RPG starring characters from Capcom, Namco & Sega. The announce trailer for PXZ2: Brave New World debuts several new characters from the fighting game universe, including: Kazuya Mishima (Tekken), Kage-maru (Virtua Fighter), Natsu (Soul Calibur 5), Vergil (DMC/UMVC3). For the hardcore fans, the PXZ2 trailer also teases the main protagonists from 2005's Namco X Capcom.

Devil Jin Now Playable in Tekken 7 Arcade, Nearly 2 Hours of Gameplay Featuring Online & Practice Mode

Devil Jin became playable in the arcade version of TEKKEN 7 this Tuesday, and Mishima players in Japan have wasted no time trying him out. Conveniently for returning players, nearly all of Devil Jin's previous moves are intact, but he does have plenty of new combo options and some new techniques as well. Just for the Mishima-fanatics, here's nearly 2 hours of Devil Jin gameplay, consisting of online VS battles and practice mode!

KOF's Psycho Soldier Team Joins Metal Slug Defense

Back in February, Kyo Kusanagi, Benimaru & Goro Daimon became playable units in the mobile castle defense spin-off, Metal Slug Defense. The latest update brings KOF's Psycho Soldier team into the fray, with Athena, Sie Kensou, & Chin Gentsai now playable (unlockable). Harada Talks Tekken 7 "Netcode" With Famitsu

Famitsu recently published an interview with TEKKEN producer Katsuhiro Harada, who gives his input on designing and developing a fighting game's netcode to keep latency low, minimizing lag. While fighting games online certainly aren't "perfect", they've definitely come a long way in recent years (with TTT2's netcode being nothing short of excellent). In the interview, Harada explains that it's not as simple as "writing netcode" and reveals some of the planning that goes into netplay.

Mortal Kombat X Official Launch Trailer

Over the past 3 weeks, NetherRealm has pushed out a plethora of new Mortal Kombat X trailers to get fans hyped up. The official MKX launch trailer might just be the finale, which features System of a Down's single from 2001, "Chop Suey!". The trailer itself was put together by SOAD's Shavo Odadjian, which blends new footage of MKX's story scenes & gameplay with the song.

French Bread on Under Night In-Birth EXE:Late's Character Designs & Fight Systems

Earlier today, Siliconera posted an interview with French Bread, the creators of the recently released PS3 2D fighter, Under Night In-Birth EXE:Late. In the interview, French Bread talks about the creation of UNIEL and designing its characters and gameplay systems. French Bread was also asked about bringing their former 2D series (Melty Blood) to the West, in which they responded it's "undecided". On a side note: TFG's full review of UNIEL is currently in progress!

New Tekken 7 Character Intros Compilation

So far, all characters in TEKKEN 7 have new pre-fight intro animations (some characters currently have more than others). As Harada stated previously, more new ones could be added in the future... but for now, definitely check out Yellowmotion's high quality TEKKEN 7 compilation video featuring a bunch of the new (and old) intro animations from the current cast (minus Jin Kazama). The compilation also features a demo of several tunes from T7's soundtrack.

Mortal Kombat X Goro DLC Gameplay Trailer

The Mortal Kombat X hype train keeps on rollin' with this latest gameplay trailer featuring classic MK sub-boss, Goro. The gameplay trailer starts off with a classic match-up (from the first MK movie), Johnny Cage VS Goro. Along with Goro's brutal pre-fight intro (which includes a fatality in itself), you'll get a look at a variety of Goro's special moves, X-rays, and a preview of his fatality. Players will have access to Goro by pre-ordered or purchasing him via DLC.

Mortal Kombat X Briggs Family Trailer

Both Jax and his daughter Jacqueline will be playable in the upcoming Mortal Kombat X. The latest trailer from Netherrealm highlight the Briggs family in story mode as well as in gameplay. A slightly aged Jax demonstrates a brutal powerbomb X-ray move, and as you might expect, Jacqueline hits just as hard as her father (while wearing her stylish forearm gauntlets - a nod to her father's metal arms).

First 30 Minutes of Mortal Kombat X's Story Mode

*Spoilers Ahead!* NetherRealm Studios released the entire first chapter of MKX's ambitious story mode for all to see. Nearly a half hour long, the first cinematic chapter of MKX starts off following Johnny Cage, Sonya Blade & Kenshi on their path to find Shinnok. Throughout the chapter, a wide variety of returning kombatants (who we'll leave unnamed) make an appearance. If you want to wait for MKX's release to be surprised, don't watch.
