This unique version of Street Fighter II enables players to use and fight against all different versions of characters from previous installments (World Warrior, Champion Edition, Hyper Fighting / Turbo, Super, and Super Turbo) for a total of 65 character variations. The compilation features key artwork and bonus illustrations by BENGUS, Chisato Mita, Yuri Kataiwa, SAKUTAMO, Ryuji Higurashi, and Tamio.

A quarter century later... Red Earth comes home.

The Japan-only spin-offs of Vampire Savior, Vampire Savior 2 and Vampire Hunter 2 are also included in Capcom Fighting Collection and feature slightly different character rosters and gameplay mechanics. Like Red Earth, these ports in Capcom Fighting Collection are also the first-ever localized versions of these titles in the West.

BOTTOM LINE

First Impression: OVER 25 YEARS after the original release of Warzard / Red Earth... an entire quarter century later... Capcom is finally releasing a localized console version! As a reminder, for nearly 2 decades, there was literally no way for fans outside of Japan to experience this game. (The timing is kind of ironic, since emulation has made the game playable online in recent times.) However, with Practice Mode and other new features, Capcom Fighting Collection will be the definitive way to experience the game.

For me, Red Earth is definitely the star of the show. However, paired with ALL 5 main installments to the Darkstalkers series, Hyper Street Fighter II: The Anniversary Edition, Cyberbots, Pocket Fighter (Super Gem Fighter), and Super Puzzle Fighter II Turbo with Rollback online modes for all 10 games... Capcom Fighting Collection is a very attractive compilation offering a look into some rare and underrated Capcom gems.

Worth mentioning, Pocket Fighter and Super Puzzle Fighter II Turbo feature a variety of Red Earth characters and cameos, so it's a very fitting compilation. "Yeah, that makes sense!" For the first ever home version of Red Earth alone, it's worth a buy!
