BIO:

Dampierre is a self-proclaimed genius conman that travels the world with his glib tongue. When he fights, he trips and acts hurt on purpose, only to surprise his opponents with attacks. He also acts as if he is uninterested in fighting, but then attacks with the hidden daggers on both of his arms. Due to his top hat, mustache, and height, Dampierre's appearance is reminiscent of Bill "The Butcher" Cutting (played by Daniel-Day Lewis) as seen in Gangs of New York (2002).

Gangs of New York is a good movie... and Dampierre is a ridiculously fun character. Dampierre's charisma, weapon & fighting style all suit him very well. I mean, he looks cool as hell... but he's a total clown (and still manages to look cool). How does one pull that off? A rare feat. On that note, Dampierre successfully brings some welcomed comic relief to the SoulCalibur series, known for being somewhat light on comedy. His moveset is as innovative as it is hilarious, and he's surprisingly fun to use if you take the time to learn his gimmicks and strengths. Some of his moves in SC5 are literally RANDOM, making him unpredictable even to a player who knows what they're doing. A brilliant idea, actually!

I was happy to see him return in SC5 after his epic appearance in Broken Destiny... and he was a pleasure to main. The fact that he has Mishima-esk hell sweeps in SC5 (along with a Thunder Godfist) makes him especially interesting and fun for TEKKEN players. Namco with the fan service!
