Ky Kiske

BIO:

A charismatic and talented swordsman, Ky was appointed as the leader of the Sacred Order of Holy Knights when he was only 16. Since the Crusades, he has worked in the police force to keep his vigil over mankind. Justice's final words at the tournament made him realize that the "justice" he believed in only served human purposes. Ky, who believed all his life that Gears were inherently evil, could neither agree nor disagree with Justice's message. It was then that he received word of a Gear that had no intention of hurting humans. To determine the true meaning of justice, he decided to embark on a new journey. Ky's rival is Sol-Badguy. A robot version of Ky (Robo-Ky) was created by Crow of the Postwar Administration Bureau.

Why do so many "rival characters" in 2D fighting games have blonde hair, with the main having brown hair? Ryu & Ken? Eiji & Kayin? It's pretty much tradition at this point. Regardless, Sol-Badguy and Ky Kiske are now timeless designs and still fan-favorites in the Guilty Gear series. Ky's original design takes heavy inspiration from a key character in the manga, Bastard!! While not 100% original at launch, Ky went through some interesting evolutions over the years.

Visually, Ky is a pretty clean / intricate design that defines the series. His moveset is pretty cool and I always enjoyed his flamboyant mannerisms. Most of Ky's moves are straight-forward and to the point, which is actually refreshing considering some of the bizarre / off-the-wall characters in Guilty Gear. Ky's original GG / GGX design was solid... and his new ponytail look in Xrd wasn't bad either. Decades later, Ky is looking a bit like Rock Howard with that new hairstyle he has in Guilty Gear STRIVE. I actually like his new design in GGStrive a lot! No doubt... Ky's clothing style has always been stylish!
