BIO:

Abel Cameron, better known as Grant, is a master of the dark style known as Ankoku Karate and is a mysterious personality in the Garou series. He's an old friend of Kain R. Heinlein's and his personal bodyguard. He protected Kain and his older sister (Marie) from the dangers of the slums under his real name Abel. When Marie was sent away to live a life of luxury, he chose to stay with Kain and watch over the boy as his father figure.

Nineteen years before the events of Garou: Mark of the Wolves, Kain had enough of the slums and declared his ambitions for power. Determined to not abandon him, he also invited Abel to join him. Abel agreed and took on the name Grant from then on. They work well together as they share the same vision of greatness. Grant had also made a deal with a dark entity in order to gain the power of Ankoku Karate (Dark Karate), for which he trains in his temple underneath his mansion.

Under his new persona, Grant's duty to Kain was to eliminate any intruder or conspirators against them. He has killed many men during Kain's rise to power, eventually choosing to work in the shadows until he is needed. Four years before the events of Garou, Grant shielded Kain from a gunshot and the bullet was lodged near his heart. Since the bullet is difficult to remove, Grant lives everyday as his last and wishes for a great final battle. When the "King of Fighters: Maximum Mayhem" tournament takes place, his job is to lure strong opponents to his lair and defeat them before they reach Kain. In his ending, he helps Kain find and subdue the remaining kingpins in Second Southtown.

Damn, that's one beautifully evil mask if I've ever seen one. Grant obviously has a badass look... and more importantly, he's got the badass attacks to back it up. Grant might be among the all-time best SNK bosses of all time (and he's not even the main boss of Garou: Mark of the Wolves! That said, he and Kain make a convincingly evil duo. They also contrast each other nicely.

One could say Grant is a simplistic design in some ways, but he really doesn't need much else. Do you see the way he fights? Take a look at that epic stance. I love this guy's animations. My only minor complaint about his design would be his somewhat funky genie pants. lol. Other than that... I dig his outfit. He's a true "fighting game character" in the way he is designed. Grant's hard-hitting attacks, cool special moves, and badass mannerisms say everything you need to know about him. Currently, Grant a very underused SNK character... so I hope we'll see him return someday! He's been overdue for a crossover fighting game appearance since about 2001.
