BIO:

Debuting as a CPU-controlled opponent in Marvel Super Heroes Vs. Street Fighter, Cyber Akuma (known as Mech Gouki in Japan) is a powered-up and mechanically-enhanced version of Akuma engineered by Apocalypse. Cyber Akuma can perform most of Shin Akuma's moves and also has some attacks which utilize his metal wings and his mechanical left arm. Cyber Akuma also appears as an alternate costume for Akuma in Ultimate Marvel Vs. Capcom 3 and Street Fighter V: Champion Edition.

FUN FACT: The visual design of Cyber Akuma's mechanical left arm is inspired by Zero Akuma, the giant mech from Cyberbots: Fullmetal Madness originally based on Akuma.

While some might've thought Cyber Akuma was a laughable and/or "lazy" design when he first appeared in MSH Vs. SF, I actually thought his premise and design was cool... and honestly, this design aged pretty well. Cyber Akuma might've even have been a last-minute design by Capcom, a design they didn't put a whole lot of time or effort into, but nonetheless, Cyber Akuma is a naturally badass boss design with some interesting and entertaining moves.

Nearly 15 years after Cyber Akuma's original debut, Capcom brought him back in spirit as an alternate costume for Akuma in Ultimate Marvel VS Capcom 3! Needless to say, he actually translated well in 3D and looks badass (not something that can be said about every Street Fighter character). A decade after Cyber Akuma's appearance in Ultimate MVC3 as an alternate costume, he appeared (again) as an alt. costume for Akuma in Street Fighter V: Champion Edition. Like I said... this design aged well and clearly Capcom agrees. ;)
